i have a jdm S2000 Ap1 its one of the best sports ever made and i had dc2 b16 civics but the S2000 its to crazy, im not just saying that because i have. 350 z its 3.5 litter v6 and only has 275hp only 25hp more then mine, S2000 only 2.0 and has 250hp and much lighter and batter handling.
i have fully built a turbo integra GSR ,, i have always loved Honda and now the S2000 is like a Dream to me >>>> when i buy a car i like it owned paid from the first day , so i would wait a little more :) and then latter on i hope i make it to the NSX .
i gotta question for all the s2k owners.... i can finally afford one these bad boys, but how's the ride quality and noise level... what is the RPM's at highway cruising speeds like 60 mph... i have also heard that these cars are a harsher ride compared to the Nissan Z which is my second option.
@19danflo At 60 it's actually not bad. You can easily carry on a conversation. It's louder with the top up though. Stock for stock I've heard the Z's are softer too. Once you put the top down you'll probably forget about the Z, and convertible Z's are not attractive.
@TheJoePepper thanks for the advice man but with the terrible winters here in northeast Nebraska, i went with my 3rd option the Mitsubishi 3000gt vr4. I really needed an everyday driver even in the snow, especially after last weekend.

If mr. engine builder knows anything about engines, he should know that on a computer control cars, if you add more air to the engines, the pcm adjusted the fuel curve to the new volume of air flowing to the engine, even if its only 1 or 2hp, but i dont think this guy is trying to show you intakes, if you look carefully, you'll see those engines are turbocharged,

When I installed a SRI on an EP3, I lost a bit of torque but not much. It worked great during cold nights. It pulled real nice at night.
I'm pretty sure a SRI gives you a more even power band from mid-to-high end.
Cold air intakes would probably cause you to lose much more low-end torque than a SRI. You would lose power on the low-end also, but mid would stay the same and top-end would increase a good amount.
On the other hand, they all are about the same unless you get tuned.
Yeah he's retired the last car he helped make was the S2000 CR. The S2000 AP1, NSX and new insight where all built side by side at Honda's Takanezawa, Tochigi plant... So if you have an AP1 it's likely that an NSX was built right next to your AP1...
wow. just... wow. first off, no they don't. they stopped producing S2000 in june of 09. second, S"2000" means 2 liter engine... AP2 had a 2.2, so its technically an S2200. and as an owner of an S2K, i can tell you, the AP1 is better anyways.
ok, since nither one of you knows anything about the S2K, ill school you. first off, the 2000 stands for 2000cc, thus 2 liter. and yes it does have to do with the motor. and btw, its an F20C, which is in the 00-03 S2K, and the F22C, which just has a longer stroke, and is in the 04-09 S2K. the F20C has a redline of 9000rpm, while the F22C has a redline of 8000rpm. the 2 liter has 240 hp, while the 2.2 has 237, but the torque curve is moved down because of the extra displacement.
and to continue what i was saying, the first car that Sochiro Honda designed was the S600. it had a 0.6 liter engine. but he must've been talking about the year 600 right? look it up before you argue with me... just like this other guy... but at least you know how to spell.

Seems you don't know about these mods and how they work.
You make your engine breath better when you install an intake.
Why do you think there are 3 different types?
You have the airbox mod, the short ram, and the cold air. They all have their advantages and disadvantages.
You have to lose some to win some. Give up something to gain something.
If you look at the dynos, you notice a loss in torque on low end when you install a SRI. People who rated my comment, are you that ignorant?

Some people prefer to lose low-end power in exchange for top-end power because you gain more than you lose.
Top-end power is good for high revving cars. Also good for drag racing as circuit racing would need some good mid-power.

When I installed a SRI on an EP3, I lost a bit of torque but not much. It worked great during cold nights. It pulled real nice at night.
I'm pretty sure a SRI gives you a more even power band from mid-to-high end.
Cold air intakes would probably cause you to lose much more low-end torque than a SRI. You would lose power on the low-end also, but mid would stay the same and top-end would increase a good amount.
On the other hand, they all are about the same unless you get tuned.

Short ram sucks in hot air while the CAI gets cold air. Cold air = better.
I'm not sure of the S2k but most CAI are skinnier than a SRI. Meaning your sucking cold air through a long straw.

Yeah he's retired the last car he helped make was the S2000 CR. The S2000 AP1, NSX and new insight where all built side by side at Honda's Takanezawa, Tochigi plant... So if you have an AP1 it's likely that an NSX was built right next to your AP1...

wow. just... wow. first off, no they don't. they stopped producing S2000 in june of 09. second, S"2000" means 2 liter engine... AP2 had a 2.2, so its technically an S2200. and as an owner of an S2K, i can tell you, the AP1 is better anyways.

ok, since nither one of you knows anything about the S2K, ill school you. first off, the 2000 stands for 2000cc, thus 2 liter. and yes it does have to do with the motor. and btw, its an F20C, which is in the 00-03 S2K, and the F22C, which just has a longer stroke, and is in the 04-09 S2K. the F20C has a redline of 9000rpm, while the F22C has a redline of 8000rpm. the 2 liter has 240 hp, while the 2.2 has 237, but the torque curve is moved down because of the extra displacement.
