this my friends, is the future of brilliant music. Let MTV have its Soulja Boy and Green Day, we have something that would blow them out of the water!!!
zach condon is a musical inspiration and somewhat of a genius!
This was the first Beirut song I heard about a year and a half ago (I Stumbled! it), and I immediately loved it, listened to more of their stuff, and bought TFCC, which I love to pieces, and saw them live in May of 2008. Every time I listen to this song, during the violin parts, I always picture two small birds (say, sparrows) swooping and weaving and diving and spiraling around each other. I wish I had the knowledge (and program) to make a video of that.
and he's the one who's able to connect all those people ("we" only knew there were talented people as "payed hands" in recording studios or as faceless people in the streets/banlieus - until Beirut was founded).
It's rather - like (almost) all Beirut songs - cosmic: With all those different people and instruments involved - and an authentic, not constructed/cliched environmet around.
In my opinion Zach is someone like a genius: He's not the whole band alone, but he's the one "invent" such beautiful melodies as the keys or cores of the songs,
This video under 60,000 views....Nicki Minaj 57 billion....sad commentary

Zach doesn't need many lyrics to make a masterpiece. He apparently doesn't even need a stage.

I prefer this to the album version, the album version reminds me of the Peanut gang theme song.. and you can't go wrong with that bass.

mmmm, it starts cool and clean, but in the end it's a bit messy. Sorry to say, but keep it cool like you put the athmosphere in the start.
texatexa 3 years ago
uummmmm, you try to do better. Post it on youtube and I'll make sure and tell you how it could be better...toward the end.
sheesh...people can't you just appreciate good music?
Also, the drumming on the watermelon at the end WAS a little messy...
