That is a cool building, but I went there a few weeks ago and all of the elevators, including the hotel elevators, require key cards for any floor above the lobby.
At 4:20, when they have those, it can sometimes be hard to distinguish the # of dings made. I think it has something to do with there not being a pause before the second ring, like a continuous noise.
Funny how you almost always got that same dumpy-looking one. I hate that. That actually happened to me at a hotel once. I sent it back down and tried to call another one, but the SAME ONE came back up after stopping at the floor I sent it to. They were Dover elevators. Figures. :P
I'm surprised they're letting guests ride in that elevator. It really isn't something the guests need to be riding in if management wants the guests to have a positive experience at the W.
love the otis gen2 voice

@escalatorgeek881 did the 13 story hydraulic elevator that accesses the whisky blue have a key card reader for it ?
elevatorgeek88 7 months ago
@elevatorgeek88 I don't think so. I just didn't try that because I was thinking that you had to be 18 to go in there.

@Femmanon Well, those Birkenstocks have kept me out of the podiatrist's office for years, so I really don't care what they look like.

Should is be a Otis GEN2??
2591746 2 years ago
Maybe
musicfreakcc 2 years ago
They're a little slow for Elevonics, an Otis likes to shove in Gen2 more than 2000T for low-rises.
revo8778 2 years ago
@musicfreakcc It is a GEN2 because if the voice.

BigElevatorDude707 2 years ago
Oh yes - some of my favorite elevators in the city. In addition, they are extremely smooth, although the high-rise ones are a bit slow.
musicfreakcc 2 years ago
Indeed.

What did the sign above the buttons say?
Biglele208 2 years ago
Something about wiping your feet when exiting the elevator, since many of the elevators were still being worked on.
musicfreakcc 2 years ago
He pointed the camera right at that sign so you can read it clear as day! why did u have to ask what it said

Why do not the 13th floor stop in the elevator for a low layer and the elevator for multistory?
sope1992 2 years ago
Are building on the residential floors or something?
elevatorman138 2 years ago
I thought this elevator had ThyssenKrupp elevators. Did they modernize?

True. But I wouldn't think that most guests would care, especially because the others are in perfect condition.
