hey to everyone saying its patched your wrong you are just doing it wrong you activate the book shelf then you go to your books and you press RT or R1 or click read then you store it then read it press do not read activate the book shelf again and read it then store it and repeat the process.

Everyone who wants to do this if it's patched for you delete your update and then try it after all it is an offline game. And if you don't know how to stop it just turn off your Internet on your ps3 and it won't ask to update.

I was saying since you can play offline (unlike other online games) you can continue playing without getting patched.
