  • alaska airlines is the WORST SHIT EVER IN HUMAN HISTORY!

i cursed them to be gone!

    FUCK ALASKA AIRLINES!

john is NOT a Whistleblower but a LIFE SAVER!

If i ever see the head of alaska airlines, i WILL make sure i spit right into his fucking face!

  • John L is a Hero.

  • Unbelievable. These errors and falsification of records cost the lives of those passengers. All of that could have been easily avoided if they just greased the jack screw. You would think that these maintenance people and the higher ups would consider that their actions affect the passengers of those planes. I hope that this accident haunts these people for the rest of their lives.

  • @tranquillofdarkness people who can commit such stupid actions to save money and put other peoples lives in danger would never be haunted by the death of those people ,,,,such people should be trialed for murder and be punished accordingly.

  • Flawed plane design + a money-greedy company that employs idiots = impending disaster....it's just appalling....i mean human errors and mistakes i can understand but this is sheer negligence of work safety culture...suspension? how bout fire their asses and make sure they dont step foot in the industry again? =.="

  • there should be a federal law against firing whistleblowers

  • How much does this fricking 70cm piece of metal cost ?? Is that worth waiting for 3 years to replace it -_-* !?!?

John Leotine = Balls of Steel.

  • 9:48 In a better society many more people would do what that one mechanic did and thereby e.g. try to save lives. Hardly anyone does in modern society. And that's a big problem.

  • Why do so many of you cock-knockers say that Alaska Airlines should be put out of business? What does putting 20000 honest people out of work for the stupidity of 5 or 6 accomplish? Why don't you people think before you shoot off your judgemental self-rightous crap?

  • Allegiant,

This is where u need to pay attention.

  • fuck alaska air they killed innocent live for money matters....

  • 00:52 Hey the animation was wrong! the horn should be installed back of the elevator, the screw should be installed in front of it.

  • I CAN NOT BELIEVE THAT MARY SCHIAVO IS ACTUALLY SITTING THEIR AND SAYING " IF YOU BLOW THE WHISTLE, YOU'LL NEVER WORK IN THE INDUSTRY AGAIN" SO WHAT SHE'S BASIC SAYING IS THAT YOU WON'T BE ABLE TO GET AN OTHER JOB IN THE INDUSTRY AS A WHITLE BLOWER BECAUSE ALL THE OTHER AIRLINE COMPANY'S ARE BRAKING THE RULES OF SAFETY AS WELL AND PUTTING PEOPLES LIVES AT RISK...... AND WE KNOW ABOUT IT BUT DO NOTHING TO STOP THEM BECAUSE THEY'RE STILL OPERATING!!!!!...... JESUS CHRIST I FEEL SICK!!!!!!

  • It is a damn shame for Alaska Airlines, they put people lives in danger by cutting costs. They should be put out of business. The maintenance workers are pressured to falsifying records so Alaska Airlines can make a profit. This is sick.

  • How do you become an airline mechanic? It sounds like they make a lot of money.

  • These people are never going to learn. Why can't they get it into their heads that shortcuts and improper mechanical repairs are going to cost them more than when they do them properly? I'm so appalled that Alaskan Airlines was not put out of business for this.

  • The sad truth is that shortcuts and improper procedures DO save money in the long run. The mechanics and the parts are cheap in aviation terms, but taking the aircraft out of service to carry out the maintenance is very expensive. Modern aircraft are resilient, adaptable and meticulously constructed. Even with very poor maintenance they will lose so few planes its still a profitable shortcut.

  • @fightingtemeraire

While I agree with your point on saving money, I am trying to impress upon the point that the cost of losing the lives of passengers in avoidable accidents are way more tremendous. It is something that they will never be able to pay back or make up for. Yes, companies lose profits due to high maintenance costs but its better than losing passengers. In the aftermath of the incident, there will be a fall in passenger traffic as the people will lose confidence in the airline.

  • @fightingtemeraire How the hell do they save money by taking shortcuts? A plane goes down. How much does it cost to build a huge plane like that? Then there's all the lawsuits that are bound to be filed against the airline by the families of the victims, which the airline won't win when it's obvious they're negligent. That's bound to cost them millions of dollars. Then on top of that, the airline will lose passengers because NOONE WILL WANT TO FLY WITH THEM. There's no way in it costs them less.

  • John Leontine is a hero not a whistle blower why he can not work in that industry that is stupid i am suprised that alaska is still in service just to save a few thousands they paid millions for the 88 lives they lost just like aeroperu603 though the peruvian airliner went bankrupt their incident happened in 1996 4 years before the alaska 261 incident

  • I agree - it's completely absurd. If these companies are so worried about whistle-blowers, maybe they should just follow regulations - they exist for a reason.

  • Money = lives

  • I wonder if, from a safety-parsimony standpoint, if cockpit tinkering in the event of an in-flight control failure saves lives or kills. My speculation is that more often than not it's better to tinker.

  • Fly Singapore Airlines...lol

  • WTF?! December 1999 was only one month before the crash not over a year!

  • lol i know he shoulod have said over month before the crash

  • Alaska Airlines should be out of business for this crap. Whistleblower? He is a savior not whistleblower. DAMN YOU AND YOUR FUCKING PROFITS. KEEP PASSENGERS SAFE AT 35000 FEET OR THE AIRLINE INDUSTRY WILL GO OUT OF BUSINESS. DO YOU HEAR ME? YOU ARE GOING DOWN. DAMN YOU.

  • alaska airlines should be out of business. Don't fly this airline! Fly it if you dare.

  • you know Alaska Airlines is a safe airline it was only one accident Compare it to any other american airliner. youall see the fatalities list. then tell me !

  • Makes no sense! They take the individuals that actually have integrity, and make sure they don't work in the industry.

  • Regular overtime earnings are gravy!
