I'm Irish and stayed in another part of Crete called Gouves it was very quiet compared to Malia that is a very rough place, and I dont believe the Greek police would say he was hurt in case it hurt tourism, thats how they survive there. But Malia is Full of rough English, it is also true they have a Mafia that the police are afraid of.

crete is a very unpleasant place. i went there a few years ago with my daughter (malia). there was a girl there called michelle who had been trying to leave for 2 years but her boyfriends family she was staying with had taken her passport and made her life a misery so she couldnt leave. they imprison people there. your son will be alive. rest assured. he is just waiting to be rescued. the officials over there dont

I was truly moved to read and learn of the dissappearance of Steven Cook and also his family's efforts to bring him home again.
I hope that one day, they get their wish and that Steven is able to come home to his family, who obviously love him dearly.
