    The DOVIS elevator

    Installed 1974 by Otis

    Modernized 1987 by Dover

    Replaced by ThyssenKrupp in 2011

    R.I.P. You'll be missed. :*(

  • Man loved this thing. This was a rare one. Good thing you got some of the parts to it.

  • I miss this thing.

  • R.I.P. 1974-2011

  • @Ih8escalators I think you mean R.I.P.S :D

  • @suzzex What does R.I.P.S. stand for? I really don't know!

  • @suzzex how was the interlock gliching?

  • I like it.

  • at 1:17 i'll bet u can make a sparta remix off the chimes

  • @88888kitty1 ;)

  • @nospeakamericano97 I believe the bumper is still there.

  • @nospeakamericano97 Yup! ;) It's fixed now though.

  • Dover lantern and exterior indicator look awesome on that brick wall.

  • Is very nosie elevator motoring isn't. Well, Elevator & elevator motoring need upgraded again anyway because is bad test elevator isn't.

  • That was problem of those outside the wall elevator indicator floor was missing the numbers. Shouldn't reports of those outside wall of elevator indicator for repair it anyway. Very awesome elevator isn't!

  • I'm going to Newport Place on Monday, I'll get an extended take on that '82 Dover.

  • @pnwelevator Awesome!

  • That's a Dover ceiling, since OTIS never used the 4 panel layout.

  • @jimster586 What about the pump?

  • @suzzex I can't be sure about that. I can't help but think that they replaced the cab since everything about it screams DOVER. If it wasn't for the plates covering the old lexan buttons, I wouldn't have known that this was originally an OTIS.

  • @jimster586 Maybe Burlington?

  • @jimster586 The one thing that is leading me to OTIS though is that the motor and the ride reminds me of Macys in Walt Whitman.

  • That's a Dover ceiling layout, OTIS never used that design.

  • It's too bad Dover modernized this after 13 years of service with the Otis elevator. They should have kept the Otis elevator.

  • @CaptainElevator42189 Well, it was a necessary modernization since they added the middle floor.

  • @CaptainElevator42189 I would like to see this as an Otis Lexan, but Custom Impulse isn't bad at all! :)

  • I agree that this should have stayed as Otis, but this elevator isn't bad, especially the Custom Impulse fixtures.

  • why is everyone taking the stairs????

  • @thecooldude9999 This thing misbehaves so much and scares people, I guess they just figure the stairs are more convenient (and safer! :D).

  • @suzzex yeah thats what i was thinking

  • When did they start adding the vending machines in the lobby? And why is Lobby the star level?

    --Tracy

  • The Lobby is 95% always the starred level. The vending machines are relatively new, and I don't know when they were installed.

  • I think at 4:49, that's a FCI Vibratone 450B4 Horn with a Federal Signal ceiling strobe plate.

    --Tracy

  • Interesting It Has A Low Pitch hall chime.

  • Who does maintain it?

  • If you actually watch the whole video and read the description you would know.

  • Schindler Would take Good care of this Elevator!

  • I see that Schindler does tend to take really good care of Dovers.
