I have a plan that might work. Every day until the end of February (longer if you want) we will watch "Enter Sandman" by Metallica. We need to celebrate Metallica with what they deserve: the highest viewed video on youtube. If you like this idea, copy and paste on every video where you know there are Metallica fans.
@HetfieldSim dude i was right there beside ya, one of the best performances at bonnaroo so far, and one of the best live performances of metallica, the only one better that i have been to was in nimes, france last year
can you guys imagine if kirk hammett was the one to have died in that bus accident and they replaced him and cliff would have wrote so much other shit and so much shit would have never existed idk man maybe im just high as shit but just imagine that.
Rob is most def a better bassist than Jason, but Jason was most def better for Metallica's live performances by far, his backing vocals were killer and his stage presence ruled as well.
all i got for yall is LOVEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE LOVEEE ANDDD FIREEEEEEEEEEEEE andd everyyythiiingg o gosh i love uuuuuuuuuuuuuu metallicaaa and james and kirk and rob and lars and jason and cliif(r.i.p) i love uuuuu
@evh5150316 now i love metallica but i always thought cliff was a bit overrated, i mean yeah he wrote kewl arts in songs, but Rob has proved he can play them damn near perfect, and i think Cliffs life solos were nothing but fuzz and wah, no tone at all, Rob on the other hand has bass solos that groove.
@Hrisovalantis92 well let me rephrase what i was trying to point out..............most definitely one of the greatest bass players of all time, but some people act like metallica died after he passed, but honestly i think that pain they all felt from his death made them stronger amongst themselves relationship wise. and by his solos what i was saying is the fuzz and wah was overpowering his grooves where rob would rather play on a completely clean channel so his grooves are felt more than heard.
the last good version of this song was on S & M. not saying that this sucks but I dont like his current voice for older songs... if that makes any sense.
u know....if they could increased the sound of the guitar and maybe make it even ore distorted....it would have sounded better....btw..robs solo was great....

Rob is the worst thing to happen to Metallica since Bob Rock...they should have quite cryin and kept Jason. Rest in Peace Cliff, try not to roll in your grave as Rob slaughters your legacy
Cliff was the combination of his predecessors. Killer backing vocals(Jason) combined with amazing bass playing(Rob). Cliff was also by far the most musically knowledgable bassist and his writting of Most of Metallica`s classics proves that.
I didn't really mean he is mediocre. He IS more musically knowledgeable, I just mean that he is less good than Cliff and Rob.
Damnit I miss those killer growled vocals, though. I heard Rob is getting vocal lessons to learn how to do the back up vocals but I haven't noticed, besides this one time on Creeping Death where he screamed "Faith!" without Kirk or James and it sounded pretty friggen awesome. He just needs to find out how to do that all the time =)

Thx a lot for your comment, derbear2688, you are totallly right. Jason was very good, amazing stage presence, but look at Rob, he looks like a stupid monkey on stage!I don't like this guy at all.

You're a complete moron.
As a BASS PLAYER Rob runs circles around Jason and in a lot of ways Cliff himself.
If anything he does a lot more good to Cliff's work than Jason ever did.
mrchrisaschrader 3 years ago 6
Stfu! When you compare Rob's and Jason's skills Jason is shit... And that's true. Jason is better only in singing...

Rob is the best thing bass wise to happen to Metallica since Cliff....Jason could do killer back up vocals, but was a mediocre bass player.
All that we need to do is beef up Rob's voice and he'll be a god.
