  • I have held a bigger one.

  • According to the Guinness Book of World Records, the largest recorded North American lobster ever caught weighed 44 lbs. 6 ounces and was between 3 and four 4 long. It was caught in 1977 off the coast of Nova Scotia, Canada.

  • The biggest known lobster actually weighs 20 pounds.

So no, this isn't the biggest lobster.

  • @eagledude4 I read it was 44 pounds and caught in the 70's. They probably don't grow that big anymore...overfishing...

  • There was a lobster in the paper couple of months ago. I think it was caught in gothenburg or so. It was 4 times the size of a normal lobster and they named it Claws. I cant seem to find the article anymore, but it was 100 years old!

On the picture, his claw was as long as a full grown mans arm from the elbow to the fingertips!

  • It was much more than four times the size of a normal lobster.

  • tasty looking little fucker.

  • not really little if you ask me

  • @41odyssey not really, the meat is really chewy now. 1-1.5 lbs is actually more preferable. I mean, I'll eat them all, I love lobsters lol

  • @41odyssey No...he's really old, so would taste disgusting. Know what you're talking about before trying to be funny.

  • @fdfvdfify fuck off it was just a comment.

  • When I dip that claw in butter and take a bite, sadness is the furthest thing from my mind.

The only thing I consider sad about eating lobster is that it's too expensive to do every day!

  • wasn't the largest lobster suppose to weigh like 44lbs?

  • To: anut5

The biggest I've seen was exactly 22 lbs in a supermarket

  • You don't get more by buying a larger lobster. Lobsters over 10 pounds tend to be rather hollow when cooked and their meat has less texture and sweetness.

  • thats at the dc warf

  • thats not the worlds biggest

  • largest lobster on record was caughtin '77 in novia scotia it was 44 pounds and 3 1/2 in length

  • I WANT THAT CLAWWWWWW

  • this small .....

  • The world's biggest lobster ever caught was 20.15 kg,or 44.4 lbs.

  • Its huge but not the worlds biggest ^^

  • I would have put it in a fishtank

  • tasty

  • I can believe that. Years ago, while scuba diving of Boston light, a freind broke the surface with a 28 pounder. A real big boy.

  • WHOA! I want that lobster!

  • the largest i know is 20.14 lbs

  • be carful or itll nip off your fingers

  • or maby just the hole hand

  • its like eating a bug

  • shut the fuck up with your fake ass story.

  • lmfao!! I know right, why didn't "grandma" show us some pics?

  • I think bigger lobsters tend to taste better, actually. There's nothing better than eating a giant lobster claw like it were a steak!!!

However, lobsters like that are very old and if we continue to overfish, we won't even be able to enjoy the small ones. Enjoy lobster, but enjoy it responsibly.

  • we have laws here now that we cant take in females bigger then 6 pounds, to insure lots of babies in the future, and our minimum size goes up every year

  • A scuba diving friend that brought up a 28 lb lobster off Boston Light, said the meat was NOT tough at all. I was on the boat when he broke water with it. A true monster crustacean. His arms where fully outstretched, with a claw in each hand. It scared the crap out of him to even attempt to grab it, then bring it to the surface. True story!!

  • This was great! Hope the shell was saved like our Lobster KONG , half of the weight that your friend caught. Now preserved on guiled Frame.

  • holy! NICE!

  • hey is this in maryland, i think i've been to the same fish market. let me know

  • I love the taste of lobsters. Does the taste of a lobster changes, when its very large and old?

  • thats not that big

  • they zero the scale after the metal tray is put on

  • hard time with the weight, turn it upside down

  • I love eating lobster, but the sweetest one's were the smaller one's. I used to work at a seafood department. I actually sorta feel bad for lobsters that are so big and old that are sold though.

  • Not the worlds largest by far and the metal tray adds nothing to the weight. The scale is zeroed before weighing.

  • the biggest lobster was 3.5 ft and 44 pounds, caught in the atlantic

  • that is not the worlds largest

  • dude the worlds biggest lobster is like 12 times bigger than a person

  • omg...............dats a big claw rofl!

  • wohoww

  • that is not world biggest, you think the fisher man would sell it to you if that is the world biggest lobster?

  • thats not the biggest in the atlantic it was a 45 pond lobster

  • give 'em a old bay shower and steam'em up!!!

  • strong lobster. I bet it could cut off someones finger if it didnt have those rubber bands on

  • i wish i could free that bad boi

  • Free its meat from its shell.

  • That's a giant lobster, but they get alot bigger (44 lbs tops). I've seen 20 pounders myself, they just normally don't end up in markets.

  • meat's prolly tough as hell too lol
