Awwwwwwww.... i have a dog named Macey. We found on the side of a highway and rescued her. After two years, we adopted a boy Chuwawa from a friend. She gave birth to two litters (pregnant with another litter!) and are all very healthy(except for one that was underdeveloped. He'she died ) we gave them all to trusting friends. we visit them alot to see how they are doing.

hey i've been doing a hell of a lot of research on jack russell puppys being born because my jack is going to have her own pups soon, but one of the things said in reasearch i found was to let the dog get the puppy out the sack but then to tie floss about an inch above the puppies tummy and NOT to rip it off because the pup could get an infection or even die by bleeding to death and it got me worried when i saw the mother rip of the ambilicle cord...was the puppy ok? did u have to intervine?thx

@FablePeach Actually she didn't really rip it off she chewed it off. That's what they do. It may look like ripping but the dog's mouth is moving and if you watch closely. she chews because dogs always use the side teeth to chew stuff. But I can understand your concern.

Sometimes you gotta watch about letting the mom do the umbilical cord. She was picking it up by the cord and thats where the excess blood around the belly came from. Some say that maybe the cause of hernia but I think it maybe hertitary.
