I'm biracial, 1/4 Native American and 3/4 Irish. I represent the fact that love transcends. My family may be a unique mix, but I'm proud of both sides. My Irish boyfriend sings this, and it's the most achingly sweet thing. I hope he sings it to our wee babies someday. O, Máthair Eiré, grá síoraí.
Hell yes...Barney killed this on the Simpsons, also, I think he was "spoofing" Gomer Pyle from the Andy Griffith Show who also had a surprisingly fantastic singing voice. He was in the bathroom just like Barney.
I think Bing Crosby sang this the best when it comes to using it to put children to sleep. Bob McGrath has an incredible voice and I'm not dissing that, but this is more for pleasure listening. Still very beautifully done, with pure clear tones. Wonderful! God bless the Irish!
I am 1/4th Irish. Decided too be 100% Irish when listening to this spectacular version of this melancoly song. Bob was great on Sesame Street but belongs more in this venue. He has an amazing voice!
Beautiful
