This video has been up for so long (sorry about the copyright scrub!) but it seems like there has been an increase in negative comments recently. I moderate these out; I feel I have that prerogative. I think I should stop that practice and let those who would spread hatred and discrimination against gays and lesbians come to light. Whenever I wonder if some individuals still hate gays and lesbians, all I need is to look here and read their most vicious words. Thank you for the reminder.
I feel many gay people are lonely because many are not true to themselves. I wasn't for a long time. But not anymore. Be yourself whoever you are. It doesn't get easier. Trust me. So, the sooner you start living, the better things will be. The longer you take to come out, the longer it takes for you to start living your life. High school is just like regular life. Many people remain bullies after school. So, life is an education. Enjoy what you can. And screw the rest of them!
To answer the question...we are born this way. I have had this way of thinking, processing, desire, attraction my entire life. As long as I can physically remember. There was bullying in school yes, but not directly for this. Though queer, fag, and homo popped out of most peoples mouths a lot. I think I made it out, because I began fighting back. I began taking them at their game and winning. But not everyone is like that. And our society allows for you to think it is ok to trash and beat
To answer the question I think from what I know people are born that way and I hate how people act like they choose that lifestyle. In my school we talked about it and I have learn that people think it is a birth defect meaning something wrong has happened to your chromosomes like when people have down-syndrome.
I'm a lesbian, I'm 15, I know that I'd like to marry a woman and possibly have children, if I work hard that might happen. I'm just plagued by the idea now that I will go to hell because being gay is a sin, is that the case? Please somebody give me advice, it'd be much appreciated.
For all you teenagers sat watching this contemplating suicide because of your sexuality, know that you can get married to the man or woman of your dreams, live your life with the man or woman of your dreams, adopt children with them, grow old with them and enjoy your life. I have a friend in college who is part of the Christian Fellowship group and "proudly" claims himself to be an ex-gay. Ughhhh.. I feel so bad for him, I hope he can realize how wrong his veiws are before its too late.

From what I can tell, it's a mix of genetics (see twin studies and genetics research) and pre- and postnatal environmental issues, for example levels of different hormones present in the mother's body pregnancy and breast feeding - key formative stages. I personally don't think that Freud’s suggestion of babying and penis envy hold any weight as serious possible causes of homosexuality

From 8 to 12 yrs old, i masturbated because of my molestation, and watched my m----- beat my younger brother unconscious 2 times. From this i feared the female sex. Was i gay during this time? i don't think so. At 12 years old, all of a sudden i was sexually attracted to my best male friend. My gayness came out of nowhere, and has never changed all these years. What's important was how i survived!!
are heterosexual people born that way or not? Who knows maybe the majority of people get only tought to have interest in the other sex...I do not know the answer... several studie emphasized that ALL people are bisexual, they just do not allow themselves to have feelings like that... But in retrospect, I can evaluate thoughts I had as a 5 year old child enough to know I was gay back then as well. Gay people are born gay. Straight people are born straight. Plain and simple. I am homosexual and I don't like this disease at all! Last year I tried to commit suicide for four times! I tried to cut my veins open, but I was saved by my ex boyfriend. I broke up with him because he didn't let me die because he loved me so much, but it was all a big lie and he used violence against me! I drank alcohol with much drugs, I survived because I couldn't leave my puppy alone. I used drugs again but I failed.Then I took a bigger overdose but I was again saved by someone else.

I have to concur with what MurderDeathKill01 has said. Gays/Lesbians/Bi/Transexuals, don't base their relationships on just sex alone. We happen to look for more and what's beyond. We're all the same in one way. Just because we decide to be gay and fall in love with someone of the same race, doesn't make us weird, gross, disgusting. Straight people don't really know how hard it is for a gay teen to be growing up in a society that we have today.
The last part of this is what has slipped in this new generation. They truly seem to believe that you love people because of the sex now, rather than the fact they actually love them. Although I thank you for arguing with a bigot, I must point out that gay people don't always want to be gay. It's not a matter of choice so much as what we're stuck with. Hence the video: some people hate being gay so much that they kill themselves.
I show this to all my friends to help them better understand what I feel like sometimes. Although, a few years ago when I was bisexual, I showed it to my GF, and she just thought it was weird. But now I'm 100% gay, and proud of it! :)

Homophobia is stupid. I see nothing wrong with homosexuality. It's different, not wrong. To make a person feel ashamed for something they can't help is wrong, not that. Oh and here's something I want to point out: I'm sure that at least 40% of you call something gay when you mean that it's either wrong or stupid to you. When you say that, it's saying that being gay is wrong or stupid, and you therefore encouraging homophobia, even if you don't consiously know it. Think about it.
sadly i lost several people to killing themselves over a period of about 2 years,
i also tried several times in taking my life but failed, i tried taking pills overdose upto 8,000 times the dosage ie took 16 pills of daily drugs inside several minutes, nothing happened!!
i was depressed, not just losing my mates, but i failed my driving test, and also my girlfriend left me in 2006 i was at the bottom of the world,. luckily i had support!!
Being gay is hard because its a minority thing, but I think suicide is cowardly no matter what so I have little sympathy, even though I'm gay myself. I went through all those same feelings and yet I never killed myself. I was the most unpopular boy in school, no friends, total isolation cause I was gay.....but I'm not gonna be weak just because I'm gay, I'm not gonna cry and feel weak and emo just because I'm gay, that's dumb.
I really like to effort to spread awareness about the issue I think gay or lesbian people should not feel themselves alone but try to mingle with the common people and there are many other people like them and they should not express themselves unnecessarliy that they are gays or lesbians. Remember life is very precious so do good and live a happy life istead of wasting it.

Good comment John. Attitudes take a long time to change but, from my perspective, they have certainly changed in terms of the acceptance that people can be gay without being social misfits. It's time certain religions became more tolerant and instead of placing a straight jacket on people by creating fear of alleged negatives in life they concentrated on the positives of religious belief and the diversity of life. Treating gay people as a negative in religion/society is simply unacceptable.

I am homosexual and I don't like this disease at all! Last year I tried to commit suicide for four times! I tried to cut my veins open, but I was saved by my ex boyfriend. I broke up with him because he didn't let me die because he loved me so much, but it was all a big lie and he used violence against me! I drank alcohol with much drugs, I survived because I couldn't leave my puppy alone. I used drugs again but I failed.Then I took a bigger overdose but I was again saved by someone else.

Thats going by the Behaviouristic approach found in Psychology. Counter argument is the Psychodynamic, which states that you are just that: Born with your desires latent within you and they become active as you age.
Homo-sexuality is an example of something that cant be explained by the Behavouristic approach as it cant be learnt easily...people who could be raised for it might still feel desires for the opposite sex, so homo-sexuality could be latent.

i also tried several times in taking my life but failed, i tried taking pills overdose upto 8,000 times the dosage ie took 16 pills of daily drugs inside several minutes, nothing happened!!
i was depressed, not just losing my mates, but i failed my driving test, and also my girlfriend left me in 2006 i was at the bottom of the world,. luckily i had support!!

Good comment John. Attitudes take a long time to change but, from my perspective, they have certainly changed in terms of the acceptance that people can be gay without being social misfits. It's time certain religions became more tolerant and instead of placing a straight jacket on people by creating fear of alleged negatives in life they concentrated on the positives of religious belief and the diversity of life. Treating gay people as a negative in religion/society is simply unacceptable.

4 Minutes 33 seconds of my life were wasted on this video, not meaning that this video didn't send a message, cause I accounted for the 10 seconds it was on screen, but the rest was STUPID!! Please, I am a gay man that has been at that issue, Whoever made that was painting the worst picture!! Shame on YOU!
