  • what you paste at 1:32 in the conf file ?

thats confusing and you are talking in robotic voice

    explain

  • bad music

why you would have to use that ?

  • hrmm.... a bit of explanation on the lines added to the conf file is more than called for. I'm going to reinstall the whole process and try again now that apache wont restart.

  • Great tutorial, thanks

  • ta muchly, works well

  • wow! thanks., it worked.! :D

  • PHP gurus

  • @samiwistler ??

  • @thesouthcamera Yes?

  • @ofermisk confused by samiwistler comment.

  • @thesouthcamera There is nothing to be confused about, i realy think there are simple things to gather and create PHP gurus. By submitting "PHP gurus" to this video, my friends and followers in other social networks will learn from this particular video and review it in our scope...

  • @ofermisk Oh, ok. I thought it was just some kind of random comment.

  • @thesouthcamera hey , i cant restart apache server.

  • @amosngweien1 If you are using a none safe thred of PHP or 5.3 with the PHP codes in 1:18 to 1:30 this can happen. Uninstall that vershion of PHP and delete any php codes that you put in the conf file of apache. I have updated the PHP links download useing that but skip 1:18 to 1:30.

  • Nice It work for me in one go... I was trying from past two days.... thanks for uploading ... it was so easy.... thanks

  • hey yea it didnt work it only loads html files every thing els shows up as if the server is an ftp server

  • @m4airsoftmaster HMM.. did you add the extensions? if you did you would need to configure them run the installer again but without adding the extensions, remember to tell the installer where the installer file is. also you may need to add index.php to your apache config file, use the search function and look for IfModule dir_module then add the index.php right beside index.html.

  • Thanks for the information, worked like you said.

  • 0:30 In my window I only see IIS CGI, Other CGI and "no server"..but I need Apache.it is not there :S .what is the matter? Got Win7 Pro x64..hope u can help!

  • @50n1x you need to download the PHP VC6 x86 Thread Safe there is a link in the info box of this video.

  • @thesouthcamera hey. I already tried both nts and ts versions. But that's no problem any more. I tiped those lines from your video into my file and it worked though. #Thx anyway

  • Thanks man, just what a total n00b like me with an outdated book on the subject needed... I owe you a b33r

  • I enjoyed the techno music in the background. Why couldn't all of my highschool classes have techno in them.

  • It really worked.

Thanks a lot man! Now I can start studying PHP.

  • Awesome...installed perfectly like you said!....now what can I do with php....

  • PHP can be used for many "server side" calculations, controls and more. as an example I have a PHP conter on one web page and on another the PHP controls a remote controld car with a webcam on top.

  • btw could u tell me the song s name it is an imba raid music PLZ!!!!

  • Unfortunatly I can't remember and my computer that made this tut video has long since died, the only thing I know is that the track as called "Computer Attack!"

  • Alright I got a vid coming to show what is happening, it's uploading

  • everytime i try to preview a php file it asks me to download it. help.

  • It looks like the php files have not installed correctly. Uninstall and remove the php lines in the apache config file, and then reinstall. Remember to tell the php installer the correct version of apache and the location of the conf file. I think the newer php version does not require the codes from the web site so you could always try without and if they are needed put them in.

  • Same prob with him, but, wth is a apache server?!

  • Try asking your question again as i do not understand. he has not come back to me so i gess the problem was solved.

  • Everytime I try to preview a php file, it tells me to download it, what is an apache web server?

  • wiki, apache server.

if you do not know what it is should you use it?

if you have configerd php shuld'nt you know what apache is! remember to tell apache to use PHP! utherwis you seem to get this error, or a display of the php file.

  • i still get it >:( I ain't downloaded crap man, only PHP 5 that's it, wth do you need apache web server?!

  • I still do not get what you are saying. This video is part 4 of setting up an apache server with some extras, hence the title "Setup PHP On To The Apache Web Server".

when you reply please try not to add symbols and shortened words because my screen reader dose not understand them.

  • Alright, What I am saying is, Why does it keep bringing up a download thing, when I click open nothing happens, and why do I need apache web server?it doesn't even work for me >:(((

  • So what you are saying is that you do not have apache downloaded and installed? As this is part 4 you will need to look at "Setting up a web server for free with apache" this shows you how to setup apache. PHP allows the server to do calculations before the page is loaded, this can make it easy to make webpages that can store information on one page rather than the entire site, but that is only 1 out of millions it can do.

  • SAME MAN

  • you forgot to tell the PHP installer where the apache config file is. remember it is in the apache forlder then the conf file. also have the config file closed as it may be unable to change it when it is open.

  • Um yeah, I know, the CONF file is giving me error's "Could not create path "C:\[Apache blabla]"

  • Excellent job, but the music and the voice is killing me :P

    Thanks a ton.

  • thanks awesome tutorial. great job

  • Thank You very much!

    installed, works perfect!

    Thank you!

    +5!

  • Nice video..but im not able to get the following line in the Apache config file.

#begin ...this isnt present in my note pad

  • Did you get an error in the PHP installer?

Remember you need to select where you have installed apache and the location of its config file. Also remember to select the apache vershen 2.2.xx. Then open your apache config file to add the lines of code from the web site.

  • Yes sir you are right I just stopped it till config..but we have to place till "config/" that was my mistake..thank you so much..you really helped out..Many a thanks..

  • i'm assuming apache does not have a osx configuration?

  • I can't remember but there is one somewere.

  • Im running this on windows 98, and I keep getting errors when I select my Apache version (which is 2.2.1) Any ideas whats wrong?

  • I do not recommend running apache on windows 98 as the setup will be different from the videos I have made. The operating system at least would be windows 2000, this is because windows 98 does not support the services in the same way. That is why the apache monitor does not work. For example if you changed the conf file you would have to restart the system rather than the service its self. but there is pages on the web that can show you how to setup apache on win 98.

  • Disregard my last comment...

    I found it =)

Thank you for your great tutorial!

  • The only problem I am having. How do I know where Apache looks for the web files?

How your computer has a web folder.. Well mine doesn't... Soo?

    Do I make one?

    p.s. Great Tutorial

  • how do you install mysql on an apache server?

  • The SQL video is still in the working list. There are a few problems with the server but one day there will be a SQL video but I can't say when.

  • when i try and install it, i select the apache 2.2x sercer, giv it the conf file, and hit install, it says, that there was a script that couldnt run or something, and php dosent install. what do i do?

  • The only thing that I can think of is that you are using vista. Are you using vista? If so I don't exactly know if it's done like this as I do not have it. I think you can right click on the php installer file then run as, then select administrator, then enter your admin password then the installer will open normally. If not you may need to find the way to run it under the administrator.

  • This is published with MyReader?

  • No never herd of them. It's published by TheSouthCamera.

  • Ok, i followed the tutorial but where you say "browse to where apache looks for the file" where do i edit or find out where it saves to.

  • This video is an extension of other videos that I have done. In the first tutorial video we configured apache to use a folder called web in the C drive, if you did not configure apache to a folder it will default to the location of the apache program files in a folder called htdocs. This is where you can put your php file.

  • COOL VOICE!

  • Yeah i need apache so i can update my habbo retro hotel !

  • can anyone help me ?

all of my downloads never download now !

    they just dont go fast

it takes about 9 hours to download apache !

    any idea why ?

I am using windows vista and my computer storage space is still quite alot !

  • It's ether you or your ISP. Check your computer has a good connection to your network, so your Wifi signal mist be strong or your network cable not to long or badly damaged (crushed, cut, split, Etc) it only take one small part of the cable to be damaged. If not check your ISP you may have breached there terms of use and are cutting back the bandwidth you may need to upgrade or change ISP. I don't know if vista has a bandwidth limiter but you could always do a Google search for that.

  • hi, could you please let me know how to let apache know where the webfiles are located.

  • This is more for the " Setting up a web server for free with apache". you need to open the apache config file and locate Documentroot and Directory there you can set the location for your web file.

  • Try restarting apache. or try restarting the computer.

  • yeah tnx....problem solved

  • Thanks ...It Worked...but what you did edit it config file...I din't understand and I dint do...still it worked. Thansk again !

  • thanks man

  • what are the two lines of code you are suposed to add

  • links and codes are in the info box.

  • THANKS

  • text to voice synthesizer?

  • thx vry much

  • umm... i don't have the folder "web". I fail at life... :(

  • NVM! I'm awesome :D. I didn't watch your vid.

  • Please stop with the music- videos is great but your music sucks - i'd rather hear you talk me through it

  • the music is the bit that fills in the silence. its actually quite boring with out. as for my voice it would be not clear and nowhere near understandable if that was used. i do lots of testings and many different versions of the video and get people to choose the one they like best. as you can see the ones with music that has no singer and thats not to loud over the mechanical voice always seems to work better.

  • Very Good tutorial! Very easy to understand, even if its done with that stupid screen reader...LOL!

  • It helpfull ,but how i can get PHP 5.2.4 SETUPFILE SHALL I GET ANY LINK FOR THAT

    TNK YOU

  • all the links needed are in the "About This Video" just the click "more" button
