That's happened to me before, I deleted a map and made a new one with the same name and I spawned in a place like that. I think it's because the old one never got deleted.

It's not a glitch, it's just the way it generated. Also, I think you might be able to get mods that can do this.

the way to get these types of spawns is simple: corrupt one of your worlds so that it dosn't show up in the minecraft exe but is still in the folder and then create a world in that same slot. i know this works because it happened to me :)
