It's just an Epiphone Quilt Top. It was a limited run with black hardware that they did around 8 years ago. The neck pickup in this video is an Ibanez F4 from an RG770.
It was done on a POD XT with the Eruption preset. I turned off the phaser and added some tube screamer. The POD does have a compressed tone in general, so that's what you're hearing.
Neck pickup, tone rolled off, but leave the amp's tone where it is - and lot's of attitude!
Tech21 actually makes a pedal called American Woman designed by Randy Bachman.
Not many effects pedals are named after one single guitar solo. That shows the magic of this song.
well done. You get the tone..and not every who claims to get it actaully gets it. And also, the use of your fingers is correct for the "launch" of notes in this solo...rare!
In my earlier lessons, before I got my mixer, I had to record the guitar and add the narration after. It was really hard to do, I'm often talking over the guitar because it's impossible to anticipate where the breaks are. The Go For Soda lessons are bad for this.

Neck pickup, roll the tone off the guitar. Lots of gain on your amp and lots of attitude helps too!
