I'm not joining your Earthkeeping movement.. The first step you should take in helping the environment is to produce better quality products. I have repeatedly been disappointed in your quality, the last case being a belt that I bought no more than 6 months ago, which has now virtually fallen apart. This is not the first time I have been disappointed in this way but it will be the last. To be environmentally just, you should do a better job at producing products that last.
the fact that you are 'doing business' does NOT make this socially and environmentally just. Feeding the economic system, maintaining consumer fetishisms and wage slavery is socially and environmentally unjust. Reduce your own personal costs, individually then collectively to provide boots for the least possible cost to society and the environment. if you all reduced our living costs you would not need to sell boots at high prices to pay all of your ridiculously high wages and running costs!

I've worked for Timberland 6 yrs now and I'm very proud of where this company is going. They've always been concerned with their enviornmental impact, but now are leading the way on new and improved ways of recycled materials in their products. Way to go guys!

Awesome video. My friend recycles plastic bottles and caps into landscape sculptures and framed pictures that look like paintings. He doesn't use any paint and he doesn't use a paint brush. He heats the plastic until it's pliable and then he sculpts and shapes it with a soldering iron. The color comes from the bottle caps! It's amazing. Check it out under Sculptures by Summer.

I'm all for saving the environment and stuff, I recycle and walk places. But did you ever stop to think that the Earth is going through another cycle O.o, weird these things never happen? Did humans cause the Ice Age, well we couldn't have because we didn't have gas powered engines...hell we rocks and wood. I've worked for Timberland 6 yrs now and I'm very proud of where this company is going. They've always been concerned with their enviornmental impact, but now are leading the way on new and improved ways of recycled materials in their products. Way to go guys!

I don't believe in Global warming for my own reasons, but I do believe in local warming and poisoning. Growing up in New York, I've suffered from asthma and the likes, and awed at that green-black cloud coming out of New York, but it needs to be cleaned up.

What most of the greeners don't realize is that most of the *ahem* carbon emissions is due to rotting plants and animal, and volcanoes. Collectively our *ahem* carbon footprint is about 3% of the total carbon in the atmosphere that is going to someday, just burn us all to death.
Another thing they don't realize is that without any carbon at all the planet would retain very little heat and we would practically freeze to death overnight. So whoever reads this, don't buy into the BS.

Awesome video. My friend recycles plastic bottles and caps into landscape sculptures and framed pictures that look like paintings. He doesn't use any paint and he doesn't use a paint brush. He heats the plastic until it's pliable and then he sculpts and shapes it with a soldering iron. The color comes from the bottle caps! It's amazing. Check it out under Sculptures by Summer.

The problem with getting people to do these simple things is that they have to undergo a complete reversal of personal philosophy. People want immediate convenience and telling them that doing these simple things will mean a lot in the future means nothing to them because that's not how they view life. I recycle everything I can, I only use florescence lights, I turn off the water if I'm not using it at the moment. Just by doing those things alone, I am doing something. So before you actually KNOW what others are doing, try not to tick people off, it's just a bad habit...

I like the Earth, I like the outside. I recycle and like to help clean up my environment, but we still must risk things like an oil leak if we need oil! I like this idea. If I ever buy boots, I will buy this brand, but we can't be too fanatic about the environment (Not this idea), such as "Oh no, don't drill, you might hurt the caribou!"
