heres a tipp for all u fisherman who have pike swallow hooks to their stomachs gills and cant get it out!!!!

if a pike swallows a hook and its down by the gills stomach area!! cut the trebles off and leave whats left if you cant cut any more!! this will save the pike and will allow it to be caught another day!!!!!

The leader was fine . After a big pike hits my leader they are always bent and curved. but this guy could of did a better knot job.

He definitely had used some kind of wire (the leader attached to a lure is all curved and tangled-until pike tightened it up), but it was obviously rotten and badly tied. Pure amateurism-with notoriusly bad consequence for the fish.

Only so you dont dig into its stomach with forceps trying to pull the hook out.... It's basically damage reduction. Never leave hooks in a pike unless it's swallowed, inwhich case rather then do digging down it's throat and pulling out half it's stomach with the hooks and effectivly half gutting it on the bank, just let it stay inside. Never know, might survive.

your leader is kinked that could affect fishing from 75-100% because the fish see your line. get fleurocarbon leader and i guarrantee you youl catch alot more fish
