@iosephskef it took you until 17 to see hercules??? omg you were a deprived child- used my classical civilisation lessons lat year as an excuse to watch this (twice in one year) making 11 times i have seen it
@bluesteelsaxophone i had watched it as a child. By after all these years i meant that last time i watched it i was like 10 or 9, I didn't even remember most of the jokes (which, by the way, made the film better) it was like watching it for the first time but at the same time bringing back old memories :)
@iosephskef yeah the old disney films were the best and watching them when yur older you realise some of them actually had quite clever and/or smutty jokes
@OkUrRight hey i agree with Mookie789.... just because its from a disney movie doesn't mean the song is childish... if you listen to the lyrics it would make an excellent graduation song
@PokemanicNifthy yeah kids these days rely on live series. Tell that to me and my friends who LOVE these movies and guess what we're kids borne after this and many other of these movies and we like these better then all the crap that's on now but they won't show these anymore
im only 10 but i ame seriously addicted to the old disney... (SINCE I WAS 3!!!) i remember that in the morning there were always mickey! and then the movies were only the disney movies i mean cartoonized movies like mulan! and hercules! and maybe.... I DONT KNOW BUT I LOVE DISNEY!!!
The old Disney movies were amazing all the crap they spew out now is really sad and depressing. I grew up with these movies and I still love them they're so amazing.
The old Disney has a way of instilling magic into hearts and minds of its viewers. Just by looking at the videos at the right I could see all the epic cartoons they used to make all having awesome music unlike that Hannah Montana hooker bitch.
This is my song, I flew to America to find where I belong, and I think I finally have, no more days were I long for a place I know so well but yet I have never been.
@zerbalover29 they had to water it down some.. honestly if you showed the actuality to kids.. it would have been bluh .. so each god had 1 set domain not several.. to confusing.. we learned zues big lightning bolts.. 1 kid-- herc and that hades looks like a big blue guy in a dark robe living in the underworld...
People Just Follow your heart instead of your brains cuz if you do you gona think to much.. if you like it you do dont go think and say stuff like it has nothing to do with real greek myth or stuff like that its a great movie then respect is as a movie not the storyline if its real or not..
this might be dorky but i still love disney movies!! all my friends would pick a scary movie to see but i would be like fuck it im gonna watch disney lol
this song, is the theme of chicken nuggets. they just go together so well. their taste, and this sound, mixed with the smell of fries, and the sensation you get in fast-food restaurants. Now that, is a little piece of heaven.
i love it when in history they ask questions about hercules, im like BOOYAAAH I ACTUALLY KNOW! i did especially good in my moses question, prince of egypt ftw!
its weird that I'm still into these old disney movies and I'm 20. They all just take me back in time. And these movies are also priceless. Watching them again, I learn things I didn't when I was 7 or 10.
i love all the older disney movies, and it's such a shame that my generation is full of idiots that would rather watch grown ups than mulan or hercules... i feel ban for disney! i know that not a lot of people like the new disney, but they're just trying to stay in the business... kids these days (I'm a kid oops) have terrible senses of humor. oh well, we'll just have to teach our kids what a real movie looks like!!!
@humoronwheels87 yess...... my best friend is in disneyland right now and we are going to have a disney movie marathon when she gets back.... cause she comes home on my birthday
@twilightfan321123 I am an 18 year old guy in my first year of pre med and this is what I did for almost two days after my exams lol it was amazing lol
@twilightfan321123 I'm 19, sitting on my bed in my college dorm, trying desperately to find Hercules online so I can watch it because I have my coloring book out and I'm trying to destress after finals :D
@twilightfan321123 Or in my case, 22 yrs old - sitting in my room listening to a string of classic Disney songs, making me nostalgic for my childhood <3 :)
He was effing adorable. I've held this opinion since I was..whatever age when I watched this movie back in elementary school.. Or whatever grade. His voice makes dreams.
I have a horse who's name is Herkules, and this song is just like him!! No one belives he can be a sporthorse, well we gonna show them he can!! I remember when we buyed him my dad told me he is ugly :s And now he is a beauty!!!
Do you remember wanting to run through the plains of Africa with Simba?
Fight monsters with Hercules?
Swing through the jungle with Tarzan?
Go to the enchanted castle with Belle?
Go to the ball with Cinderella?
Ride a magic carpet with Aladdin?
Save China with Mulan?
Turn into mer-people and go under the sea with Ariel?
If you do or want Disney to bring back movies like this re-post this note maybe the Disney Corporation will see it and get their heads on straight
i think it's fair to say hercules was the greatest greek mythological hero ever though, only one to ever become a god anyway. love the real myths but this movie is awesome, tugs the heart strings every five minutes T_T
@murphy54000 yeah...so it is pronounced both ways. but uuuhhh lol Everything in this movies is wrong. You expect the names to be historically accurate?
C'mon guys, we've had some fantastic films since the likes of Hercules. The Toy Story trilogy? The Princess and the Frog? Let's remember that the formula for an amazing Disney musical isn't a hand-drawn fairytale, either. I've loved films like The Nightmare Before Christmas since childhood and I still do. I love Disney!
@TheBearagon Did you actually watch the Toy Story's? They're amazing! I can understand The Princess and the Frog, not everyone liked that, but TOY STORY?
@ProfessorParadox7 I loved Princess and the Frog, I'm one of the few people who counts that as my favorite movie. It may not seem like much on the surface, but if you Dig a Little Deeper it's actually incredible.
@ProfessorParadox7 I agree the newer Disney movies were still great films! I just hate those cheesy live action comedies on Disney channel! It almost feels like they shame the Disney name. :(
@ProfessorParadox7 Exactly! I feel like Disney is just teaching kids how to be obnoxious, ignorant and rude these days! Its completely opposite the nice loving virtues that the old Disney movies taught.
the older disney movies shaped who I am today. They taught me my values and how to discover myself. Today's disney movies are all 3D and don't come close to the classics
God, I love these movies! I grew up on Disney movies. And when I watched them so many times that the VHS tapes fell apart, I got them all again on DVD and watched them some more!
I can say with utmost certainty that I would not be the person I am today were it not for the disney movies made during this time period. Hercules, Mulan, Aladdin; they shaped my character.
The wonderful thing about this movie is that not only does he fall in love and decide to stay on earth, but his intentions for being a hero change too. In the beginning he just wanted to fit in, but it's like he began to realize that he didn't need to fit in to be something special; He just needed to be himself and stand out. This movie had some of the most amazing messages that so many kids these days need to here. It's too bad disney doesn't make such inspirational movies anymore:(
Do you remember wanting to run through the plains of Africa with Simba? Swing through the jungle with Tarzan? Go to the enchanted castle with Belle? Go to the ball with Cinderella? Ride a magic carpet with Aladdin? Save China with Mulan?Shrink to toy size to play with Buzz and Woody? Turn into mer-people and go under the sea with Ariel?
re-post this comment and maybe Disney will see it and get their heads on straight
I'm 17 and still have all the Disney videos from my childhood despite the fact that most of them are so worn out and broken from being played so much. I just can't bring myself to get rid of them,
This song definitely applies to a plethora of hopes and aspirations that we might have. Among them fame and recognition, earning respect, winning that coveted prize, and simply just making through by giving it your all. Some have complained about how two-dimensional the late Disney Renaissance (90's) became, but it's simply reaching out to generations old and new, delving deep into what we want and feel and hope for. Hercules finely demonstrates this need...and please excuse my corniness. :D
As one of the suggested videos on the right, they have Miley Cyrus' "Party in the U.S.A." that makes me so sad! It might be Disney Channel, but it is NOT true Disney <3
you needed to make me cry didnt you?

the older disney movies shaped who I am today.

I don't think the most liked comments would be as epic without this music playing in the background.

Old Disney songs were the BOMB. Even Alan Menken lost his touch; the songs in Tangled were cute but really forgetable. 90s soundtracks forever!

@murphy54000 Same happened with mine.
I'm 17 and still have all the Disney videos from my childhood despite the fact that most of them are so worn out and broken from being played so much. I just can't bring myself to get rid of them,

@YourSweetOblivion I love it when little kids think they're old. I still have the vhs cases for every disney movie released post 1980.

i don't like how Disney now is very Amish (see 123shup.webs.com). Back in the day, Disney was so Pope (also see 123shup.webs.com).
PIXAR can suck it! Toy Story was a decent enough story to stand on it's own.
