Touring cars are pretty much unrestrcited stock motors with heavily modified transmissions and super close gear ratios. They are also N/A, so a moderately street modified Turbo model would completely destroy a Volvo touring car in the straight.

about 300 bhp. A moderately tuned street modified turbo has a turbo lag, weighs more, doesnt have the traction like this volvo, and doesnt have the perfectly suited ratio in its gears, and engine output in relation to the revs.

That's why I said it would destroy a touring car in the straight. Touring cars top out at 200km/h due to their close gear ratios. Don't forget about all the restrictions on displacement that the BTCC has, so not much engine work can be done aside from swapping out to a much higher duration camshaft. The FWD's Touring cars accelerate fast out of the corners, but in the straights they really aren't that quick. My co-worker races a Renault touring car. So I am not misinformed.

The engine, although only about 2000cc is reworked in every way, and is very different from the stock engine its based on. Not only a high duration camshaft. The engine is completely done by TWR.

I think you would have to come with a very very fast street car If you want to beat this.
