Bluemoon8899 what I did was I took 1 small

section of hair at a time, rolled the end of the section around 2 fingers. Then once I got the roll started I held both sides of the roll as I was rolling the hair to ensure roll was tight. Then once I was done I secured it with a bobby pin/s. I hope that helped.

I tried this look last weekend at a car show & I got a ton of compliments. People were asking me how I did it & were looking at my hair to see how I did it. The only thing I did different was I had to create fake bangs b/c I don't have any. So all I did was make a roll in the front where my bangs would be.

dont take this the wrong way, but the curls you are doing are actually barrel curls. pin curls lay flat on the head and are held down by a bobby pin or pin curl clip. i am a licensed hairstylist and it was drilled in us in beauty school to know the difference. not tryin to be rude, just tryin to be helpful =) aside from that, great tutorial! =)

@tomofromrearth I love my Bettie bangs, but I find that I can do alot more classic styles with longer bangs. Plus, you can always do faux Bettie bangs if needed. It's easy, you can roll them up or just sweep them to the side and make them look like Bettie bangs. ;)

Instead of dirty hair you can always add texturizer or hair spray it a few hours before you go into doing the style so it has some tackyness and hold.
