I can't imagine Jaslene Gonzales being in an advertisement for Chanel perfume for Paris Vogue because her face is not..... it remins me of a rectangular box. If the head was smaller and chin not protruding, then it will work. The models in Paris are beautiful ballerinas and most ANTM winners don't have the look to get work in that city or other international capital. Their experience is confined to mainly America's fashion capitals. Look at Naima Mora! She is now working at a coffeeshop.
There's also the issue of whether the contestants understand Parisian or Italian fashion instead of simply fantasizing about living the glamorous life of a top model (another word for supermodel). In actuality, most ANTM winners don't make it as successful international models because the industry in Paris, Tokyo, Milan, London and even NYC have traditional standards that don't fall into what Tyra believes in. She was rejected alot by agencies when in her teens and the winners are too.
The funny thing about Tyra Banks is that she doesn't dictate how a casting audition should be run, that is up to her staff. Alot of the choices selected are not at the level of a professional model who would have many years of experience. Tyra must be disappointed in the women she interviews at the semi-finals but at the same time the American audience does not want to see a 20 yearold version of Iman or Paulina because they're not relatable. Now, JC Penny catalogue models are relatable :-).
i am extremely dissapointed with the america's next top model audition process. tyra banks stressed the idea about searching for all body types, and she says they are interesetd in personality. I walk into a room and line up with a group of girls, we all state our name, age, and weight, and they automatically make a cut. Then this happens again. Then we all go to the third round, and no one is taken. I find the show very hyprocritical and have lost a lot of respect for the show and Tyra Banks
Haven't you noticed many of the girls (maybe even half every cycle) are chosen during closed interviews? Some of them openly admit that. Apparently the staff looks for girls on the internet or through some important people, or whatever, and I bet their chances of being chosen are much higher. So... noone should be disappointed if she isn't chosen. It's almost impossible.

The audition was different here in Saint Louis. We did it individually.
