Fantastic stuff! I was lucky enough to see them at the 18th (1982?) Cambridge Festival and a couple of gigs after that they did at the Barbican. After years of trying to find their records which were mostly deleted at the time, it was a fantastic experience for a teenager such as I was then.
They were great but sadly the sound was truly shocking! Jacquie's vocal mike was the worst offender - loud and fuzzy as you can hear here. Thank you for posting this though as it was great to see them live again - they've still got it - they just need to sack their sound man and next time use the CFF sound people as they know what they're doing.
Too bad about the snarky sound: this is one of their very greatest songs (my humble opinion) and the eponymous album the pinnacle of the English "folk-rock phenomenon" (or whatever it is that we're supposed to call it) thanks to this song and the extraordinary suite they constructed from the old Jansch-Renbourne duet Jack Orion.
My God , Jacqui - you're as beautiful as ever - and your voice is every bit as gorgeous !
