I thought the movie was pretty cool.. I can see why some people may not like it. Visually beautiful, action, hot chicks.. It actually had a somewhat deep storyline, I think the "dream sequence" fantasy-ness might of turned off some people and the ending wasn't what I wanted. I found it on fillmsi.co.cc.

I saw Restrepo in hope to understand what my Son is going thru in Afghanistan! I thank God that my Son survived his first combat 15 month tour in Iraq and now almost 3 years later he is on his 2nd combat tour! I am too old to fight now and retired back in Feb 2010 with roughly 30 years in the Active Army and Calif Nat Guard. I wish that I wasn't told old to fight..........For I gladly take the place of my Son and let him enjoy life with his family.....

when that dude got killed when they were fighting on the mountain near the end of the movie, that was one of the weirdest feelings i've ever felt while watching a movie/documentary or any film for that matter. watched most of the movie and two things came to mind.
1. the Afghani village sages are obviously unimpressed by the CO's talk, as they've herd that same crap from the soviets.
2. The American troops are lucky the taliban are underequipped and stupid. Those Hesco baskets are all well and good, but the lack of any kind of a roof leaves the troops vulnerable to mortar fire and even rifle launched grenades, especially the later as they are easier to stealthily launch and then run

Haven't seen this movie yet, but just finished reading WAR by Sebastian Junger. Wow. I have always admired and had the utmost respect for our military, but you never really think or know exactly what those people deal with. I am in awe now. Just to hear what they go through on a daily basis to me is the most humbling thing, and when I think about my problems, well... I really don't have any. I'm just a 43 yr old mother of two and I thank God everyday for these brave soldiers.
I won't recommend it to anyone below 15 to watch it. Not the best movie that I have ever seen, but definitely worth watching on getfilmsnow.co.cc.t was one of the best movies for me.

I saw Restrepo in hope to understand what my Son is going thru in Afghanistan! I thank God that my Son survived his first combat 15 month tour in Iraq and now almost 3 years later he is on his 2nd combat tour! I am too old to fight now and retired back in Feb 2010 with roughly 30 years in the Active Army and Calif Nat Guard. I wish that I wasn't told old to fight..........For I gladly take the place of my Son and let him enjoy life with his family.....

Political discussions over this video miss the point. Stick such opinions on Fox or MSNBC clips. This movie demonstrates the temperance, fortitude and sacrifice of our service men. Enlist or just thank them. Whatever decisions we collectively made as a democracy is the cause but does not justify judging the professionalism and pain these men demonstrated and endured for us. They defend your right to make mis-placed comments. We should respect them regardless of the politics. Thank you 173rd.

So what did this platoon accomplish? Building a little fort on top of a mountain and losing a few friends in the process, only to have it taken back at the end of it all. Europe backs America because the US prevented the Soviets over running us and now Europe/US/Russia/China agrees that extremism cannot be allowed to gain momentum as in WW2. Russia and China are moving towards capitalist democracies; believe it or not, the world is improving but still needs our military. What is the big deal with this movie? I watched it and all I saw was Murder Inc. at work. Yes it's sad when young people are killed, but don't these young kid know that the war they are fightiing are nothing but resource wars?

when that dude got killed when they were fighting on the mountain near the end of the movie, that was one of the weirdest feelings i've ever felt while watching a movie/documentary or any film for that matter. I honestly felt like i was right there suited up with them and one of my brothers just died. The way one of his fellow soldiers told that one guy who was crying to just shut up and sit down, you could tell by his expression that he didnt even know how to handle it or tell him. Scary shit

watched most of the movie and two things came to mind.
1. the Afghani village sages are obviously unimpressed by the CO's talk, as they've herd that same crap from the soviets.
2. The American troops are lucky the taliban are underequipped and stupid. Those Hesco baskets are all well and good, but the lack of any kind of a roof leaves the troops vulnerable to mortar fire and even rifle launched grenades, especially the later as they are easier to stealthily launch and then run

Haven't seen this movie yet, but just finished reading WAR by Sebastian Junger. Wow. I have always admired and had the utmost respect for our military, but you never really think or know exactly what those people deal with. I am in awe now. Just to hear what they go through on a daily basis to me is the most humbling thing, and when I think about my problems, well... I really don't have any. I'm just a 43 yr old mother of two and I thank God everyday for these brave soldiers.
