I own an Alpha Black from Tippmann, I don't think that part's really relevant, my problem is that the gun skips every other shot and chops paint like a wood chipper. I have personally had every internal part replaced and it hadn't fixed it. Is this something that may be resolved with a new board, or am I wasting $100?

I have an X7 egrip, you can take the battery out the back of the grip without having to take appart the grip or anything and you have to turn the Egrip on with an allen key. Is there an upgrade that you can just get a switch for it without having to buy the virtue board?
I would like to add one thing as an A-5 owner. For the battery, try not to wrap up the wire around the top of the battery connector. If you remove your grip from the gun, the remove the trigger pack, you can pull the battery out the top of the grip without having to take the side wall off the grip. Helps speed up the battery changing process. I can change mine in less than a minute :)

ya i got mine with an e-grip, but it cost me like 100 dollars xtra, but the one i have is different, the battery has a little compartment at the back so u dont have to take apart the whole e-grip assembly.
Because it has a battery in it. If you order the gun with an egrip then thats what it comes with.
As for changing the battery, you don't need to remove the side cover. Once you pull out the grip, remove the trigger assembly and you can pull out the battery from the top with out taking apart the entire grip :)
i played a lot with the E-grip today, it works pretty well. the only problem i had with it was that when i fired on full-auto a ball would sometimes get lodged halfway between the chamber and the cycle feed and make the gun jam.
Your trigger is moving to fast and your feed can't keep up with it. the factory setting ROF on a standerd E-grip is set to 15bps, so look into you're egrip instruction kit or for a video here on how to program it, it's simple enough.
is it on the gas hose part of the gun? even if it isn't it's perfectly fine; theres nothing to worry about. they get a little looser with more use, his tippmann is most likely new or rarely taken apart. :D
You do not need to unscrew and separate the grip frame to replace the battery. Once the grip is removed from the gun, simply push the safety pin out and the entire trigger block can be pulled out of the grip. Then pull the battery and wires out to replace the battery. Push the battery back in and then put the trigger block back in and line up the the safety and push it back in. I just replaced my battery yesterday. Its how i always do.
the response is better. i have both egrip and a response and at some parks u cant even use full auto at some parks with egrip and a response is pretty much full auto and u can use.

because the Tippmann A-5 doesn't have a feedneck for a regular hopper. That hopper is for the Tippmann Cyclone Feed system which is on the Side of the Gun because it has co2 run through it to feed balls every time a shot is fired. This is also why the A-5 is an air eater.
I find it funny that he takes the hole grip apart. al you have to do it pop out the safty remove the trigger assembaly and the battary slides in and out from there, it was desined so you didnt have to take it all apart like a 98...I still may look into one of these bords, I do like my stock one but IDK.

Unless you know something I dont, you can't install a new board without taking the grip apart.

i like how he usually takes things apart super carefully with tiny allen keys, but with the a5 he can whack it with a screwdriver and use power tools. lol
You can pull out the battery without taking apart the entire frame. Just remove the trigger pack and slide the battery out... it makes it a little quicker :)
It's just that the stock internals on the X7 are better than the A5; with Vortex mod, lightning rod, and squeegee paddles, (which you would want to get with an A5 or an X7) it evens it all out. I would dare to say that with this board and all the cyclone mods, the X7 is a waste of money over the A5.

OK so i asked why tippmans aren't cool and i get negative point thingys. It takes more skill to use a tippman than it does to use a dm, ego and etc..

yes but tippmanns have cyclone feeds which cant be used on the airball field due to them sticking out an extra 5, if u want something that takes skill try pump stock class

True but i would never use a tippmann on the airball feild lol. I just meant that its harder and more skillful to use a tippymann. And pumps do take skill, i have a karni pump that i use every couple of months.

Called Virtue and it comes out in another week or so and I think he said it will cost $115 or $150, wonder if it's better to get the HE Grip instead.

i like how he usually takes things apart super carefully with tiny allen keys, but with the a5 he can whack it with a screwdriver and use power tools. lol

You can pull out the battery without taking apart the entire frame. Just remove the trigger pack and slide the battery out... it makes it a little quicker :)

is the egrip on the A-5 the same as on the X7? jw cuz i dont know jack about tippman. but i might get this for my bro.

It's just that the stock internals on the X7 are better than the A5; with Vortex mod, lightning rod, and squeegee paddles, (which you would want to get with an A5 or an X7) it evens it all out. I would dare to say that with this board and all the cyclone mods, the X7 is a waste of money over the A5.
