Talat had a silky velvety voice. An extremely talented singer. He had sung many songs in Calcutta as "Tapan Kumar".He was the king of Ghazals.Talat and Manna Dey were being side lined,My hats off to the duo.
Heard most wonderful voice of Rafi Saab in middle & High Octaves in thousands of songs but Rafi Saab's voice is so clear& melodious in LOW OCTAVE,really incredible.Just ask a singer how difficult it is ?Jagjit Singh could sing in Low Octave beautifully but never used to go in Higher Octave. Here one must accept who could sing in nice flow and without strain.Found same thing in this duet "Ek Chand Aasman Pe".Versetile singer should be able to sing easily in all 3 octaves and that also melodiously
What a Beautiful Voice of Talat Mehmmood, but I still love Rafi Sahab. His voice is matchless, he always overshadows his co-singers with the strength and magic of his voice.
@kulsoompasha : Best Singers of the world: Rafi + Talat = Milk + cream with sugar together, both of them so far no singer have ever sung better than them, all are 3rd class singers, for our times we have sonu nigam, udit narayan, and jagditsingh.
@sukhigmail Manoj Kumar refused to sing in voice of Talat. As Talat was out of market in 1968 and Mahendra Kapoor was the voice of Manoj during 1967-70. Manoj furgot that Talat sung for him quite a good songs in past. I personally did not like the Manoj's move in the instant matter and many of Cinepremi criticised Manoj for this.
@durlabhpkolhe it was really a misfortune of the film industry where such a sweet voice was considered out of market. Talat mehmood like voice will never ever come again. This was the only original voice who couldnt be copied by any one.
@durlabhpkolhe you know talat sahib voice was the personal favourite of all the musicians i.e Naushad, Madan Mohan, Anil biswas, sajjad Ali and many more..
The song is from the movie Aadmi ('68), music by Naushad. The song was re-recorded with Rafi & Mahendar Kapoor and it was this version which was used in the movie.
