He got into the heads of all 3 judges, not one of them was able to remain dispassionate whilst judging him. He made them all retreat inside to relate to the song, it was written all over their faces.

Australia got it WRONG this last year.. Spano SHOULD have won. Wes Carr is good, but this guy should have won. Pity we have heard NOTHING (to my knowledge) from him since (chart wise). Pity. He could go far. Funny, think of the AUS Idols.. WHO or WHICH ONES have done extremely well....Shannon Noll, Guy Sebastian... and lately Jessica Mouboy . Sure, others have had mini success (like Wes Carr winner the last season) but none of them have had great success. Dean Geyer is another talent wasted. Sad

Totally agree. Sure, Wes was a great performer and all, which is why I think he won, but Mark had one of the best voices I've ever heard and much more emotion in his performances. In my opinion anyway...
