I actually much prefer classic JRPGs most of the time and dislike horror movies, so i am very under exposed to disturbing things compared to most 19 y.o. males. simply, lots of this thing on this list are so cliched that i find them hard to be anything but humorous anymore. also, mighty poo was always flat out hilarious to me as a kid, and, consdering how the entire level preceding him takes place in a mt of poo, he's pretty much expected at the point

@badflamer I see what you mean, but also, disturbing isn't just limited to scary or horrifying. It also encompasses unsettling and things that might not necessarily scare you, but just weird you out or strike you as odd in a bad sort of way. That poop is in no way scary, but it's pretty damn bizarre, and quite gross. Definitely disturbs me in that sense. Even if they're cliche, they can still be unsettling. I definitely would be creeped out being haunted by the whorespider. But that's just me.

@KouskeUeki well, again, Mighty Poo can't even be considered 'creepy' to me, not when you consider all the other f-ed up shit in Conker, and the ridiculously (but affably) cartoony feel that the game has. Maybe in something more serious like the Jak series a giant pile of shit trying to kill you by drowning you in more shit while singing to your demise would be a bit more unsettling, but in the setting he is presented, i don't see how poo could be seen as anything other than comical

@KouskeUeki over-all, though, i guess it's because, in my book, things that 'look' weird, have to go really far to be 'disturbing'. Things that look 'normal' on the other hand are absolutely ripe for the horification and off-puttingness. If you are familiar with TvTropes then you will recognize this as the Uncanney Valley. to me, being disturbed is a highly psychological, not emotional thing. thus, a psychological approach should be used to incite the feeling
