Thanks for doing this Robert. I've been enjoying the Carpool series tremendously, and Patrick Stewart in particular was interesting. It must be a bit of a challenge to "chat" (interview) whilst actually driving. Far cooler and more fun than anything smuggo Clarkson and co could do. Of course it's a different thing, but still. Rob Grant was really interesting too, which was nice. Thanks again. Keep it real, it's enjoyable.
Two of my favourite actors in one 33 minute slot, talking about two shows I love, bliss!!! And very interesting to hear about Sir Patrick's other life outside of the sci-fi, brilliant.... :D
People in LA don't know how to drive in the rain because it doesn't rain for weeks and weeks at a time? Hell, it only rains here like at most 4 days a year, and people here know how to drive in the rain.
Living in the U.S. and seeing this show, the one thing I'm struck by is how we haven't got anything like it anywhere on American TV. It's not even *that* revolutionary a concept (talk show in a car), but I doubt you could get to first base pitching this to a network.
Haha! I live in Huddersfield, go to the Uni and even lived in Mirfield for a small while. I even went to the same Secondary school as him. Although, why he ever went to Dewsbury I don't know. Been there a couple of times. Shithole. He is a legend of a man and a fantastic actor. Was amazing when he turned on the christmas lights. Pity he never said "make it so"
These are great interviews - although I hesitate to use the word as they're simply natural conversations between two people. Stewart is as articulate and engaging as ever, and listening to him talk about his huge a range of experiences - from filming Star Trek to starring as a white Othello - was really fascinating. Really awesome stuff.
I saw the title in the related videos section while watching the carpool Steven Fry show and almost had a fit of excitement. ... ok I admit that it is 3am and I did in my enthusiasm clap my hands repeatedly in my excitement for this video ^_^ Before I even clicked on the link. Just seeing the title set me off. LOL
@DankWin Poor Llewelyn. Watching this video I kept think that. He must have been, pardon my language, shitting himself. He said so very little. ^_^ Though I cant blame him. I'd be the same.
I now think its possible to be in love with a man without actually being in love with him. The respect and admiration I felt for Patrick Stewart while watching this was overwhelming.
ANd now I sound like a creepy stalker. LOL Not that it matters, its unlikely I'll ever meet him ^_^
This is an incredible idea! after a little while it feels like your just in a car with a famous person, its just so naturally relaxed. Its only after i finished watching i realized i hadn't actually been part of that journey. Surprised these haven't got more views.
I first encountered Sir Patrick Stewart in John Boorman's (excellent) Excalibur. It is still an underrated classic. Full of the Arthurian magic and symbolism, it's one of the best Arthurian movies ever done.
He doesn't look a day older than he did the last Star Trek The Next Generation movie. And he doesn't look much older than in Excalibur in the early eighties (1981 as far as I remember).
As far as I know, the Enterprise travels through Trekspace, the Red Dwarf through the funnyspace?

well, great minds think alike. Sir Patrick Stewart is amongst Red Dwarf's fans. Who in the hell gave this a thumbs down? This is actually interesting TV for once.
I honestly have watched a lot of these, but...when he was saying about the four male pheasants, I thought he was going to say "Four Lights"...You know you've watched too much TNG when...

Actually, there was a "photo negative" Othello before, in the 1960s. There was a script called "White Othello" by a man named Russell Roman Sr. who set the play in Africa with a caucasian mercenary as the white Othello. It was going to be an off-off Broadway, very small scale production. But the stage manager and the lead actor absconded with the funds that Roman had scraped together.
It would be great to see a film version of the Play that Stewart did.
Am I correct in thinking that all of Patricks unproduced LA works had a common theme? I believe that they were all concerned with him "looking at a woman"; and then "all of her clothes falling off", and of course he then "sees everything".
Robert pass this on to Mr. Stewart. He said his production company had all these projects and such. And no one in Hollywood would touch his projects. He should or could go out into the Independent Film people all over the world. I am sure he would be able to find some people to help him bring his projects to life. Hello all,
Just thought some of you may like an interview Carbuzz.co.uk did with Robert recently. He talks about carpool, EVs and Fully Charged.
You can access the interview by visiting Carbuzz.co.uk and going onto the blog section of the website.
I think the rest of the sites also pretty cool, so you might want to check it out as well.
