I honestly don't think that I've related to a song in such a way as I have to this song. I even cried on that last verse. (I hardly cry anymore.) My parents work with the children's ministry at our church, my dad is one of the technical guys who work in the sound booth, my mom teaches the pre-schoolers during Sunday School. But I can honestly say that I have no memory of our family ever cracking open a bible at home.
I can relate to this song. My parents drug me to church every Sunday but never sat down with me and read the bible. My mom was always there to help with my problems but my dad was very had to talk to.He was always working, coachin my bro in sports, or hanging out with his bros/sis's or his nephews. It seemed like he had time for everyone but me.If I asked him questions that he should know about me, he would fail. I still love him.

@todieisgain77 Ya since growing in my walk with God I see the support and power God gives through his love for me not to be unashamed. There's no reason for me to be ashamed of a love soo powerful. And Im glad u commented back because somethign else that has helped me in my walk is relationships with people of The Church (The bride). Its good to support each other in our walks and help each other walk with Christ.

wow. such a serious "overlooked" issue. this is the unspoken, desperate heart cry of all children and youth ( and even adults wounded as children). all children need "TLC" (tender loving care) and it feels like recent generations are getting less and less of it. youth go else where to get love and because of the love/discipline they never got at home. it hurts to think of the damage that has been done because of this. oh Father,... how we need You.
