  • Very nice Impala! 1962 is damn nice looking.

  • @jnieminen2 i love the 67 impala's the 62 is great and all but to me nothing beats a (black) 67 impala

  • @jakerawr101 Supernatural eh??lol

  • @69Cabeast kinda, they have a 4 door and i want a 2 door. i think it looks better

  • @jakerawr101 for me i prefere the four door for the 69 year but thats becuase the 69 year the two door seemed like the designers were lazy. As the 67 and 68 goes can't beat the fastback two doors those are good lookers ...but seriously get what you can there aint many of them left

  • ...I love the sound of that exhaust system , Beautiful 62 chevy

  • Sounds Tuff !!

  • Love these American Racings Torque Thrust... look so good on these cars! Just bought mine for my 56 Chevy Bel Air Cpupe...Greetings from germany

  • 62 ss is the hottest car in the day as far as looks

  • @mrjugger The motor is custom, the orig. had probs and was sold. It's built for show & racing. Anti-social? no way, ppl love to hear it.

  • @mrjugger

if its to loud your too old!!!! and screw your neighbors they are jerks anyway

  • @mrjugger lmao anti-social? that is anything but anti social, thats a conversation starter and a head turner, who doesnt like a loud muscle car??

  • @mrjugger man ur a dipshit who wudnt want to listen to that car open up .. i have a 1962 impala 2 door hard top .. swaped out the original 6 cylinder stick shift and put in a 409 and now ppl come up to me saying i have a sexy car.. spent alot of money on her and insurance at 18 years old is a pain in the ass

  • @mrjugger who gives a fuck what the neighbors think? do they got a clean ass impala? i doubt that shit

  • Bad Ass

  • yea you can start off by getting the fuckin car under a garage or some type of protection, then a paint job may be some buffing if its that bad, other than that if you cant meet these qualities then just give the car up :)

  • man i want mine to look like that. I got one inherited to me but its a rustbucket thats been sittin outside for years. Any suggestions on how i could fix it up???

  • This was bought turn-key at auction, with motor and performance upgrades done afterward. Join a "409" club, they can help with specifics.

  • Guy, you need to shelter that baby. Get yourself a '62 full size shop manual on ebay and start working.

Then you need a plan. If the car is a runner but it has rust, you need to secure the body and stop the rust problem. Get opinions and paint shops and get her done. Some people will say you are working backwards but there's nothing worse than watching your project rot while you try to work on it, plus a paintjob will motivate you to drive it

  • Once this is taken care of, take it apart, and clean solid metal with drill+wire brushes then get a compressor, epoxy primer and urethane paint and learn how to mix it and shoot your metal parts. You can have them blasted clean but it costs more.

So basically take the suspention and any solid metal apart, clean and paint the parts and replace wearable parts like bushings, tie rods and ball joints.

Consider pulling the engine out have painting it. Have your carb rebuilt and tuned

  • Then put the car back together and replace all weatherstrip and insulation and you should have something that'll cary you around in style.

Don't try to do everything at once or you will DIE. When you start something, concentrate on it and don't lose focus.

Of course I haven't seen the car but judging by your description, it will cost money and will be quite a lot of research and work.

    Good luck.

  • Regarding frame-on or frame off, it's very very possible to paint your frame and undercarriage with the body on the car but it's a lot more intricate work.

Frame on or frame off painting a good idea regardless but don't waste your time on a bad frame, have it inspected by a pro.

  • Great car! My younger brother had one like this (same color also) about a decade ago & I really miss it. I have 3 favorites for antique cars, this is the first, the other two (in order) is a jet black 63 Lincoln hard top and the early Ford Mustangs but the 62 Impala SS hard top is my top pick :)

  • My uncle has a blue 62 hard top, totally stock. I'm trying to get him to sell it to me but he is being a dick.

  • There's a blue 62 hard top SS one town over from me, nice car.

  • now thats what i say bubba .. Bravo

  • I am very glad you didnt do any lowrider pimping shit to it

  • It's my dad's car, he wanted to make it really fast, it'll beat my Camaro SS easily.

  • To each his own, man... I personally happen to be a fan of both. But in this case, there is no way in hell I would cut up the frame of a turn-key car, from auction.

  • @aliendo1 Not sure what you meant, the mods were changing the rear-end out, subbing a custom built hi-po motor, race exhaust. The frame wasn't modded, unless it was braced.

  • Sorry, that last comment was aimed @dreamtheater142. Love this ride though man.

  • Beautiful car. Im looking forward to the day i get mine.

  • vrey nice...thats a fuckin car! not like the plasticy, wingy soulless ricer crap out today...

  • sick car...my dad has a '62 impala chromed out with red leather interior and its rag top...just the icing on a cake :D

  • It had a 409 when bought, but the rebuild showed small probs, went with a stroker block and diff heads.

  • CLEAN!

  • i like that car i own a 62 chevy impala with a factory 409
