After so many lives lost, what is achieved?

Compared to Derg (Mengistu) time, today in Eritrea;

1. There are far more prisons & prison population.

2. Parents go to jail or pay 50,000 Nakfa if their son/daughter run away from serving national service.

3. Young people spent their prime years, up to 10 years, in the national service.

4. High school teenagers slave labor with no pay on their school off summer days.

5. Cost of living sky high.

etc.....

Is this liberation or humiliation?
