  • Ouch! Asawa can sing all right, but his Russian.... just ow. (I'm an English countertenor and a fluent Russian speaker...)

  • It's not his singing with sheets in front of him, it's his NOT singing the notes which are written in it that irritates me. If he doesn't dare to sing the G flat Rachmaninov had written, he should have transposed the whole song.

  • Actually, many professional singers perform a recital with a score. There is nothing wrong with it, it is just a personal preference of the performer.

  • I have to disagree! There is Great Passion here. What an amazing voice!

  • He's singing in Russian and I'm understanding him pretty good. :P

  • I just don't get how "professional" singers can stand there in front of any audience with a score.. Every time he looks down, which is often, he loses the connection with the audience. I would not pay to see him..

  • I'd pay to see Brian Asawa even if he is looking at music or not. I go for the auditory experience.

  • I guess you wouldn'y pay for ANYONE's CDs either.

  • I am more impressed with the pianist than the singer. It's nice enough, but lacks warmth and passion..

  • Who is the pianist?

  • Yes,he is singing in Russian.

  • I wonder in what language he is singing. Maybe in Russian?

  • What a gift!
