Keep up the good work. Needs some more speed and expression, but the basics are there already.

Here is a version that's very close to the original Tiersen-version. Search on Youtube for "daveisthemusic comptine" to find it (no quotes). I'm slowly mastering the number, but I still can't reach the original speed, but I start to get close (90% or so)..

you played the intended speed of the song, but its doesn't sound like its within your level to play at that speed; the left hand sounded really rushed. this piece sounds great when its slow too.

also, people always 'just' play the song, they add no dynamics; from i've heard/seen in the youtube videos; 95% of the songs are DEAD, meaning no expression.

and people should stop looking at the sheet, so try to play in from your muse instead; it'll sound a lot better

Thank you for all of this advice. I didn't play this song as well as I could today. I recorded this about a year ago, and actually my level of skill has grown within that year. I'd like to practice this song for a few days, and record it again. (It's just a matter of finding time.)

I know what you mean about songs that are dead, I've seen my share of those videos, (and I've played some too. Eeeps) When I'm playing in private, or not in front of the camera, I usually add a lot of emotion to the music; I guess I'm still trying to learn to do that on camera too. But I agree that it's a needed factor of great videos. Thanks again for the advice!

You're hitting the right keys, but you're playing it very robotically and lacking sincere emotion. IGNORE the camera...let it run for 4 or 5 takes until you feel yourself sinking into it until the camera is out of your mind.

Also, make the transition between the notes more gentle, with a touch of pedal resonance to blend the tones a bit.

And finally, TUNE THE PIANO, it's very tinny...and get an audio filter for the camera with less white noise.

it's a nice song but you really have to play it faster...

I can play the first part at full speed now... but the rest is a little hard at the moment but I'll figur it out :-p

but keep trying, don't give up, there will be a moment when you'll be able to play it at the right speed it just takes a lot of time... but I guess you know that ;-)
