Just a quick point. Rare didn't start churning out poor quality games because Microsoft bought them and made them do things differently to the way they liked.

Simply put, all of the important people at Rare who were responsible for Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, Banjo Kazooie, Donkey Kong Country (and 64) etc. had left the company by the time Microsoft had acquired them.

The team working on PD:Zero had almost nothing in common with the team who did PD, which is probably why it sucked...

Now I love Nintendo and they have AWESOME 1st party titles today. But Their 3rd party games are mediocre. It was a mistake to sell Rare; A mistake that probably can't be corrected.

You are woefully ignorant. The only downside to Nintendo's sale of Rare has been losing the rights to games like Perfect Dark and Jet Force Gemini. The talent that made classics like PD and Goldeneye left to form Free Radical before the sale.

Tell me, what great games have Rare churned out since MS acquired them? PDZ? Nuts and Bolts? Viva Pinata? None of which have turned out to be hits.

actually most of RARE's top members were opting to quit, RARE would have begun to suck whether Nintendo sold them or not. Nintendo actually probably made a good move getting rid of them when they did :X

It's not as good as PD, but Time Splitters (I only played the third one, Future Perfect) is quite good on its own too. Made by the same team, apparently.

I still got my N64 version, although I don't have an XBOX360 I'd rather see it getting a rerelease in any console than not seeing it at all.

If you have a 360 and it comes out, don't even think, just buy it. This game is pure awesome.

They made like 10 games for the N64, less maybe. And I hope I'm not forgetting any great game, but I think Goldeneye/PD, Banjo Kazooie/Tooie, Killer Instinct, DK64 and Conker's BFD were the only good ones.

I wish they had all the licencing on those games though, so that the Virtual Console could get those :<

THey never sold family games when they were with Nintendo. They sold family FRIENDLY games that people of all ages could enjoy like Banjo Kazooie and DK Country, but these games would often be easy to pick up but difficult to master. True hardcore games. They also made this Killer Instinct, Conker's Bad Fur Day and other non how you put it "family games". And RARE leaving Nintendo for Microsoft was a stupid move on Ninty's and RARE's part because the two are perfect for each other.

As an old experienced gamer, even if I consider GTA4 the best game I've ever played, Perfect Dark is within my top 5 of all time, even if it's from 2 generations ago. Who needs graphics and online multiplaying if you have this music and gameplay?
