People who argue about who is better between blah and blee clearly don't understand how to write or what goes into a solo. Who is better? What the hell does it matter when given a solo they all could learn it and probably play it equally as good? The difference comes within writing material. Marty is a MASTER of modes, scales and arpeggios whereas Kirk has is own created style be it mostly of pentatonic scales.

Sure, he's had some pretty good solos, but was not nearly versatile as Dave's or Marty's. I saw some people throwing around some guitarist's names and just thought I'd voice my opinion. Marty Friedman has that style to him, that I don't really know how to describe, which I like. He is able to realize the chords playing behind him, switch keys or change in to pentatonic ect.... Marty is just awesome...
