I am a pinay (filipina) and speak tagalog fluently, except the very deep tagalog. I don't speak it everyday since I live in America, but you know what I realize? The tagalog language is so beautiful esp. in this song! If I didn't speak Tagalog, I can easily learn this song because they pronouce each word so clearly and slow enough.

The original is a great song, this new rendition focused more on the audio rather than the message. I'm not taking away anything from the singers, they did a great job on the song, but the old acoustic Freddi Aguliar version is still the best.

Fair enough that it doesn't have the same feeling as the original, but it doesn't discount that they added so much more substance to it vocally, which was the point of the performance.

But be it so, it didn't deserve the rash critique you gave it. The focus was different, and the performance at least achieved THAT focus.
