Reality has smacked Dante in the face. What Carly and Jason tried to do for Michael, Dante did for Brenda. He now realizes that what they tried to do was NOT the wrong thing because they were trying to protect someone they loved.

I think for those who want Carly to pay too, she will probably get a reality-smack when she tries to drop that bombshell at the wedding and it turns out she doesn't have all the facts right. Might just piss off Michael and get her in hot water.
She has a tendency to self-destruct, after all, and her character has always ended up paying the price one way or another. Her time will come.
Still, for me, I'd rather watch that actress all day than see Brenda. Blech.

Reality has smacked Dante in the face. What Carly and Jason tried to do for Michael, Dante did for Brenda. He now realizes that what they tried to do was NOT the wrong thing because they were trying to protect someone they loved.
Ahhhh - the bitter pill of irony...
Good stuff on this acting front. Good writing today too, imo.

I have been commenting on Part 2 but am re-watching Part 1 and I for one thought Carly was spot on in terms of this paraphrased bit:
"You were a cop - you knew what would happen, but did you talk to a Guard? Did you talk to the Warden? Michael should have been in protective custody because of what his father does for a living..."
He COULD have talked to a Guard. He COULD have talked to the Warden. He COULD have had him placed in protective custody.

Carly the hypocrite will never admit to her own mistakes in raising Michael and the way his life turned out by marrying the mob. Dante didn't cause the problem and I don't think he had intentions to jail Michael. Judge Carroll told that dimwit Carly if she purjured herself on the stand, Michael will take the fall.
