  • Actually, Bach would have applauded this arrangement. He was famous in his time as an great arranger.

  • from Jose', the Hermeterec.........Listen to Angel run those 32nd notes just before the arpeggiated part.......Holy Cats!! Pepe can do that stuff too.

  • from Freshoffacop'sass.......I changed my mind....Angel is the best...no Pepe is best...no Angel...no, I think Pepe is better...no I think......what the heck they are both incredible...

  • Tempo is all over the place. Listen to Göran Söllscher if u want to know how to play this piece.

  • @ngupowered the whole point of porting this over to the guitar is to get it away from the Tempo. It's why we like the guitar. Segovia was trying to not only garner respect for the guitar in classical circles, but also felt it was superior to other instruments as a solo instrument for the very reason that it could be so personal and polyphonic. Something that requires a sort of "disrespect for the tempo"

  • @Jemoh66 A whole world of flamenco lovers disagrees with you. The chaconne is originally a dance and should be treated as such. That being said, i forgive Segovia for his fluctuation in tempo because he was a master colorer and had a very musical chaconne. Romero i don't forgive because of his unwarranted many 32nd note pauses after bass note emphasis.

  • Beautiful!

  • Top five of all time, Angel Romero, Superb!

  • from Freshoffacop'sass.........Angel is an awesome player, but I think Pepe's even better!

  • C'est impossible de rester de marbre devant une telle interprètation! elle est magistral avec toute la démesure et la force que contient cette oeuvre!

Angel est un ange mais musclé et sexué!

  • my favorite version beside williams , oh and i love that part from 5:41 to 6:07

  • Who could not like this? Masterful performance with flawless technique but that never distracts from the emotion of the music. Very unique and fresh interpretation of Bach'[s masterpiece. Love the vibrato, even though some may say its too much, for this piece I think it works perfectly.

  • Very fine interpretation! The Historically informed performance practitioners will of course, say that Bach should not be played like this. Ignore them. BTW the section at 5:40 is the way it is written in the violin score.

  • this is so freaking awesome. Bach himself would be dumbfounded listening to this.

  • i like it... sounds awesome!

  • Bravo bravissimo.........!!

  • Angel Romero is completely fearless in his interpretations. when you think it is already a technical challenge to sound flawless at some point (4:35) he comes up with something even harder and better (5:40).

  • not in baroque style at all... too pity, cause romero it;s a great guitarist, but in flamenco style, he sould stick to this music and let others play bach the way it;s meant to be played

  • 3:25 - 3:56 wow!

its heared like flemonco and not like bach but these scales are very very hard and he played them so.. wow, i havent words to discribe that

  • this guy is a flaminco guitarist..not a polyphonic guitarist...my guitar teacher studied under him. He doesnt know much about emphasizing voices

  • @saldunlop haha number one, "this guy" is Angel Romero, one of the greatest guitarists of all time. Number two, I guess each to his own and you have the option to dislike this interpretation, but who the hell is your teacher?! Chances are he's not better than Romero...if he was you'd be listening to his CD instead lol

  • @saldunlop And I guess you are an expert on the subject ? He is a masterful guitarist. One of the best to ever have played. He is the best of the Romero family. I assume your teacher "only" had a masterclass with him. If not who is your teacher....Julian Bream??/ or maybe Andres Segovia?? Ridiculus comment !

  • Astounding!!!!!!

  • Sin duda es el gran maestro Angel Romero tocando. Que manera de tocar las escalas.

En las manos de Maestro Angel Romero , El Chaconne tiene vida .

  • Some of the lower voices drop out sometimes and loose their direction, and he could have taken it easy and played the arpeggio part a bit smoother, but what beautiful and forceful runs!!! Best ever.
