Don't forget Barney Frank's appointment as chairman of the Finance Committee, she refused to talk with George Bush but was more then happy to talk to Bashar al-Assad, John Boehner won his lawsuit against Jim McDermott, she has had a number of closed door discussions with fellow Democrats, wanted William Jefferson on the Homeland Security Committee, the Ethics Committee has done nothing. She just talks out of her ass like most 'crats do. Her "new direction" is in the sewer.

Well, what happened was McDermott got a hold of a telephone conversation between Boehner and Gingrich and released it to the public. An he goes around complaining about wiretapping. LOL!!

I really have no "use" for the Speaker, however in the instance of the USAF transport I don't think she was entirely off base. In fact, I would insist that ANY Speaker of the House, as #3 in line, should have access to an aircraft capable of assuming command and control of the nation's nuclear arsenal in the event of A Really Bad News Event takes out the POTUS and VEEP.

I'm not so sure.... The jet allocated was not in flight re-fuel capable (bad mojo in worst case scenarios). Also, I believe maint. folks would have to install special HF radio and other equipment if the Speaker was taking one of the smaller jets... Sorry - going on memory here.
The Speaker is the Speaker, no matter how much I may dislike the current occupant of the office.
