  • @Bellalee40 yep pretty much. your lucky to not live here. in the us we view ourselves as the best country ever, yet we are becoming a 3rd world country founded on corporatism.

  • So does that mean that corporations can just buy the government??? Im from NZ so I dont know much about your government and how it runs...!

  • American politics have always been steered by the "hidden hands" of corporate interests or/and the political elite (in other words, popular opinion has very, very rarely mattered much in terms of the policies that either of the parties decide upon). What is interesting about this new legislation though (or rather deletion of earlier legislations) is that it's done so publicly. Like the public has finally become gullible enough for decisions like this to be made without consequence.

  • You thought you could change the Republican party as a gay man?! I have a bridge to sell you...just think of all the money you'll make from the tolls.

  • america sucks

  • We were founded as a Constitutional Republic. The founders never wanted a Democracy in fear that it would lead to tyranical rule. In fact you may hear the likes of Hillary make the claim that we are a democracy when nothing could be further from the truth. Some claim we are a representative democracy because of the 17th amendment but that to is a perversion & would not be enough to define us as a democracy. We are a REPUBLIC. You have a problem with corporations donating, but not unions why??

  • OK 1st, welcome to the Independent Part Jay! Next, don't be so quick to abandon hope. It is true that those ruling undermine a great deal, but it also has a silver lining. MONEY!!! When it become public who is & who is not supporting what political agendas....well the American plp will know who to boycott. Which is why its so important to maintain the boycott on Target. We still have power to affect politics Jay, its just in a different medium.

  • America isn't Democracy, its suppose to be a Constitutional Republic!!!!

  • America is a REPUBLIC. It's not a democracy, it never was a democracy. The republic allows these rights with laws. The republic has fallen though because of the oligarchy.

  • @jtizz711 its basically the same. publica and demos are the same words, one in greek and one in latin.

  • @TheYolk wrong. don't mean to be mean but they are different by definition. Democracy is a poor form of government because the ill-informed can decide what goes on. It's happening right in front of our eyes. The dumb asses are fucking everything up!

  • this sicken me

  • Didn't Ralph Nader make a big deal out of this the last time he ran for president?

  • Mr. Napolitano is nuts. "Legal Personality?" What the hell is that? Is there an "Illegal Personality"? Define personality. To me, it's a combination of attitudes and emotions as it relates towards the interaction with others. When a corporation can produce a set of attitudes, emotions and, oh yes, a pair of vocal cords - THEN I might be swayed into believing that corporations are people.

  • I knew that alito was a scumbag POS

  • At 7:13 That idea doesn't sound bad at first. However, their suits would simply be too tacky (and one thought that Reagan's high polyester overly padded suits were bad enough!) They should however announced their monies in some way.

  • You know, it occurs to me that the only real hope is that people will just turn off their television sets and arm themselves with research before voting and vote their conscience and never never NEVER vote democratic or republican. If that happens, it won't matter how much money corporations pay for advertising, and it just could happen if the corporations start throwing their weight around and lying even more than they do now on tv.

  • *Round of Applause!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

YES YES YES!! Totally agree with your message!! We all need to do exactly what you just said in this one video.....

I thought I was alone on this but thanx!

I shall spread the message around, even though I am commenting late but umm excellent!

  • "I personally think these huge corporations are draining the human resources off this planet. Either they're taking advantage or they're hurting people"

Having been an overseas service agent for a corporation I agree with you here. There may be people or countries that could be having good experiences with outsourcing but mine was negative.

  • "The government may regulate corporate speech through disclaimer and disclosure requirements, but it may not suppress that speech altogether" Judge Kennedy.

"The notion that the First Amendment dictated [today's ruling] is, in my judgment, profoundly misguided," Judge Stevens

"This is a victory for Citizens United, but even more so for the First Amendment rights of all Americans," said Citizens United President David Bossie.

Quotes from foxnews . com article from Jan 21st 2010

  • ***CORRECTION: That was not Mr. Napolitano's personal arguments. He was explaining the arguments of those who voted for the ruling. Sorry, my bad '^^

  • Mr. Napolitano argued that since corporations are seen as individuals under law (legal personality), then they have the right to "free speech" that is protected under the first amendment of the U.S Constitution. I'm not directly quoting, this is what I remember, I could be wrong.

But yeah, there you have it. As Rachel says if there is a legislation that threatens the interests of a corporation, with this ruling they now have no restrictions to exercise their "free speech" against it.

  • "An article on 'The Economist' this week argues that nations also should cut out the middle man and they should just put corporations in office" Onion . com "In The Know: Are politicians failing our lobbyists?"

On a serious note I was seeing "Studio B" on Fox News the day or day after this ruling and Shepard Smith had Andrew Napolitano comment from a "constitutional" point of view.

  • it just like Activision (I'm a gamer) won't listen to the PC gamers about bringing back dedicated servers. I can see that the corporations is started to get greedy nowadays for themselves. With failing education systems and recession, out rights is slowly taking away. People of America, take action to bring this out of the madness.

  • You don't think that those corporations have been buying politicians all along?

What actually just happened was, the secret society came out of the closet. They no longer care if the people know it. Because they know the American people are retarded.

Americans, by an overwhelming majority, still believe the official explanation about 9/11

Americans, by an overwhelming majority, still don't know that our CIA is smuggling cocaine and heroin into our country.

    Our government is today's mob

  • Perhaps, just perhaps, this is a good thing. I mean, money doesn't technically win the election. I actually have to believe the BS that the corporations cause the candidate to spew, and actually elect that person with my vote.

If people start critically thinking about who and what they are voting for, perhaps the money won't matter as much.

But, this is a country that emptied the gun stores of ammo when Obama was elected. So, most likely natural selection will eliminate the US.

  • hopefully americans are smart enough to not change their opinions based on advertising. but sadly i know i'm wrong.

  • How could something like this come to pass? How could our Congress pass something this depraved? How could they spit upon democracy and throw it out to the dogs, AKA corporate America. It turns my stomach to think just how twisted the government has become to destroy America's future like that. What's worse is, I have very little understanding of politics, and yet even I can see just how insane this is. Oh, America, what has befallen you?

  • america is getting a bit childish now....

  • The more I see your clips the more you surprise me. Honestly, you cant use the fact that your father was a republican to defend the fact that you are one. I also noticed that you promoted Zjemp's channel, an avowed atheist who openly hates the bible and God. You, however claim to be a religious Christian. How can you hold such contradictory positions? Have you accepted the consequence of whom you are? There is a time when you must say goodbye to those who hate you. Stop hating yourself!

  • I am not American, but I look to USA as the leader of democracy in the world. so if democracy mean corporate People with money contribute unlimited money to the political system that mean the Rich rule and individual are not equal any more .

  • Thank you for posting this. Thank you for having your eyes wide open and sharing this.

  • good maybe they'll stop shoving health care down our throughts.

  • America is crazy man :S

  • depfox...finally figured some of it out from inside a small box. Meanwhile, the world goes on as usual.

  • Democracy is where people vote on the laws that affect them. "America" has not ever had democracy. As the population has grown the number of people voting on them and consequently the level of corruption have grwn exponentially. Democracy is not a handful of assholes deciding right and wrong based on what brings them the most money.

  • Nothing has changed. The corporations have been ruling this country ever since they killed Kennedy. All those so called secret societies have always ruled and their members aren't made up of your local union members. Say good bye to the Democratic party it's is toast after this.

I have been telling people all a long that this country is due for a reset. A good ole fashioned revolution to overthrow this government and all aspects of it. Vote independent in all levels of elections.

  • we need to stamp out democracy remember the pledge of alliegence and to the democracy for witch it stands democracy is mob rule

  • Blame yourselves for not educating yourselves.

KEEP watching TV and Buying Coke and this will get even worse. CHANGE. It just takes a little effort.

  • Dimes to Donuts says you purchased something today from a CORPORATION. Because every time you do you under mine our country.

Corporate Welfare is out of control and the people of this country Keep blaming the Government. WE ARE THE Government!

AND it's past time to take it back from the Corporate SHILLS. Every time you watch TV you are contributing to the end of America.

FOLLOW THE MONEY! Then stop buying from the Corporations.

  • signed the petition and emailed to family members, i will write a letter too...

  • i am speechless, i really do not know what to say, other than u r correct, we've known for awhile that bi-partisan gov't does not work, i will change from dem to independent. and i will sign the petition, thanks for the info, Jay. This is really sad.

  • When I heard about this I actually cried.

  • Great. Obama just gave billions of tax payers money to Unions and now they are going to give it right back to the democratic party. Nice transparency there Obama.

  • im so sorry to hear that, wish i could change your life guys :( may be if you two take part in show like The Amazing race? :)

    xxx

  • I would so love to be on that show :O)

  • did you two apply for it? im sure they will took you because you are unusual in any asspect :)

    xxx

  • As long as the Reps continues to abuse the filibuster it doesn't matter what President Obama and the Dems want to accomplish. Justice Roberts and his conservative court have sold the American people to the corps. thanks conservatives we are now a corpocracy

  • This is just FUCKING crazy! :O

  • corporations are replacing humans as the site of subjectivity. people are too cynical and confused to care. our spoiled lives will vanish before we know it.

  • Welcome to hell, population us. Once again America proves to me that the rich rule and the rest of us are left to die. This...this is just hideous. I mean, how bleak will our lives become if corporations decide how we live? America isn't our "home of the free and the brave" anymore because of things like this.

Thank you for the video, Jay. I'll make sure to write and pass the petitions around.

  • @alexrousseau815

Please, corporations don't rule anything, idiots just make this out to be much more dramatic than it actually is. It is and always will be the land of the free and home of the brave. If you don't like this country then get the hell out.

  • wow, i never thought america could get worse. But once agian it surprises me of how low it can really get.

  • Thank you so much for making this video! Of course, I love all your LGBT-related videos and they've been a big inspiration for me. But this issue is so important, that it warranted your video.

I've signed your petition and shared it on my various social networking profiles.

  • theres no legislation too stop this if they say anything too curtail this is unconstitutional

  • go back too eleven judges that could be a start

  • The Republican Party is not the same party of old. The Supreme Court IS Republican or corporation centered. The Democrats, by the way, would not have made this type of decision. Yes, it would be good to have more than two parties but the reality is that we don't. I would always vote for party that worked for the well being of all of its citizens.

  • Jay, I was TERRIFIED when I heard this last week. I just can't believe it; I'd even write my "elected: officials if I thought they'd ever care, but they are the staunchest "bought off" Republicans you can imagine! Maybe you've heard of Steve King (IA.)? I wonder how this might affect the Prop 8 ruling's chances?

  • You'd THINK that the 5-justice majority would have THOUGHT that our fears would be the reality of their decision, wouldn't you?

  • I like the idea of labeling politicians like NASCAR drivers. Thanks for the info. I had heard this, but you and Rachel made it relevant to me.

  • So, foreigners now can have influence on US politics. Could an American set up a for non-profit corporation for eg US Health Care and have people donate? The EU for example has 500 million people and majority likes the US to have health care insurance. It might sound silly, but could this actually be possible? Just thinking out loud :)

  • I totally agree with you on this, Jay. For the record, I'm a democrat because I was raised that way by my mom. Hey, I am Latino after all, but I've always been pretty lax when it comes to titles. I vote for who I think has people's best interests at heart. I voted for Obama becuause I thought he would help healthcare and gay rights. A lot of good that did. Anyway, I think this is horrible. The corporations owned so much of the goverment already. Now, they have the whole thing legally.

  • Corporations know best how to lead people like sheep. The invisible hand of the market place will bitch slap you silly if you try and stop it.

  • It's ridiculous for anyone to believe the Government should be allowed to silence anyone -- including Corporations

Corporations are made up of 'We The People'. Corporations employ 'We The People'. Corporations affect the way of life for 'We The People'.

If a politicians policies will cause a corporation's pricing to skyrocket and/or cause massive job loss, I, as an American citizen have a right to hear the Corporations point of view

Funny Liberals don't care about ACORN, SEIU, GE, etc

  • It ridiculous to believe Words like conservative and liberal have any real meaning when your motto is "In Gold I Trust".

As Americans, I have the right to speak out for individual liberty and you have the right to suck up to your boss.

  • eelzen:

Pretty hilarious that you support Liberal policies, yet at the same time claim you speak out for "individual liberty". The only thing most Democrat politicians want to do is control your life

My "individual liberty" is to be allowed to hear the opinion of a business person as to how my life will be affected with certain policies... be it: consumer, employee, etc

  • 2010GOP

Your assumptions are as lane as your labels. GOP 2010? WTF? Does any one want to go back to the failures of the GOP? How bad did you have to screw up to get a inexperienced black man elected over a war hero any way? Pretty damn bad. I'm all for a conservative party, but the GOP ain't one.

  • 2010GOP, that 'We the People' is gone now. Its now 'We the Corporations'. This doesnt only affect liberals, but the GOP as well, wake up.

  • @2010GOP Absolutely the government should not be allowed to silence them, but that is not what this is about. This is about treating the entire corporation as a individual which they are not ,and it is not just U.S corporations, any company incorporation here including ones based outside the U.S can donate without limit. Do you want a company run by the Chinese government donating money to our political system?

  • Yes but it is the duty of corporations to only care about making money. The board of a company is bound to only do good for the shareholders, not for the greater country.

  • @orangegoblin82 is this craig or jake and are you going to make the video challenge that Brad came up with?

  • It is Craig, Jake never posts comments, he just appears in the videos. Yeah I am going to make the video. I have a song all planned out. I will try to get Jake in it but I wouldn't hold my breath :P

  • Bryan & Jake are so much alike ;O)

  • Democrats are bought and paid for too. Why would you look to them to change anything?

Why would one take seriously the political views of a person who gets his party affiliations from "the way [he] was raised" when it so clearly goes against what he stands for?

Remove the power government wields and you get rid of corporate influence, just the way the founders wanted it to work.

Corps won't be selecting our leaders, you will. Who do you think voted in the shill filled govt we have now?

  • @tarossi400 I agree with you thats why I am going to become an Independent over joining the Democrats.

  • People need to stop watching TV

  • I am still numb over this ruling. The communist always said that the fall of this country will be greed. It frightens me to agree but I believe they were right and it's now begun.

  • And what is the richest industry in this country? Pharmacueticals! So there goes any hope for the working poor or the elderly on Medicare! And of course we can forget about any kind of equality in gay rights, because that would mean having to extend the same rights as to straight married couples. These are scarey times we live in. And for these reasons, I am sometimes ashamed to be called an American.

    Peace,

    Penny

  • i have seen so many ding dong that really believe that the Supreme Court out of the blue just passed a new law.

Some think that the Supreme Court out of the blue changed the law.

Even Obama has worded as so. That the Supreme Court has changed a law for no reason.

now lets say the healthcare bill passed. And someone took it to the Supreme Court, and they deemed it unconstitutional. the healthcare law would be trashed.

  • I would not be surprised IF those 5 Judges had "Monies"put into secret accounts in thier names!

  • So what you are saying is there was never any Democracy in America up to 2002 when John McCain brought this bill before the senate. That would out law huge corporations to make TV,radio and new papers ad's for or against a party or person. The Democrats tried so hard to block. Then challenged at the Supreme Court in 2008. And kept getting postponed till this year.

As for "these huge corporations to donate as much money as they want to buy our politicians votes". That always been there.

  • There's still hope. The consumer can choose what corporations to support. Our main task now should be to inform those ignorant consumers. Let's just hope that there are still more informed patriots than ignorant terrorists.

  • @do you know of any list that helps us the consumer choose corporations that arnt bad for America. Please share if you do.

  • I too had the same experience as you did on the way to work when I first heard about this ruling on NPR. I was so shocked the first thing I did when inside the building was to try and talk about it to my co-workers...I got the same response as you did. They couldn't see how this would effect them, weren't interested, or in one case invited me to watch Glen Beck.

  • man this is scary

  • Don't most futuristic books and films convey the idea that a world ruled by major companies is the worst future we can bring upon ourselves?

I'm surprised Obama let this through. I'm even more surprised I haven't heard more about this. Granted I haven't watched the news much this week but I have been reading the papers and didn't see anything about it. Has the UK given up on the US of A?

  • GoldAnnaple, Obama had no influence on the SC's ruling, none at all. All he can do is work on going against it, as he stated he will.

  • Wow, I had no idea this happened. I didn't see anything on the news or my paper. It really makes me sick that a gas company can personally select our next leaders. You should watch a documentary called 'Who Killed the Electic Car?' It's great and really pisses you off about how politics are run.

Wait, you're a closeted Republican? Don't be ashamed, my whole family is republican, except me. Steve's an independent and he's begged me to register as one myself for years now.

  • @GayComicGeek Im talkign to bryan about becoming Independent. i think it is important to keep an open mind when it comes to our political leaders.

  • I'm glad you are considering your views anew, and keep talking to Bryan about politics, since you are about as thoughtful as a tree stump. How's that censorship stance going for you? Liar.

  • @ Kern009 WTF are you talking about? Every time I see a comment from you I have to scratch my head. ???

  • So, depfox, from this video what I hear you're saying is that your a leftist infiltrating the republican party?

Work from the inside, your a leftist secret agent lol

  • @TheRedAtheist I think the problem in this country is that we refer to each other as you just did leftist, conservative, liberal, I am a conservative on some issues and a liberal on others. So I guess if you are refering to me as a leftist because I live in CA then I guess you are correct.

  • @depfox I think humans label themselves to better represent who they are. Most of use lean to one end of the spectrum, just like heterosexuality-homosexuality is a spectrum. I am a far leftist myself. I agree it is too bad we have to label ourselves because we all know too little of each other, and can only use labels in order to define other people within our own mind. That said it is better to try to find the best parts of multiple philosophies rather than dogmatically subscribing to one.

  • FInally an honest response from you Jay. You've deleted my messages from your channel, that's after calling me out here for being a liar since you thought I was attacking your family(?!?). I have posted links regarding the subjects of your videos and they all dissapear, since you don't like to follow comments that don't immediately cater to your obvious vanity. You've attacked members of MY community and you want impunity, fine. Just talk to Byran about giving up these reactionary views.(cont'd)

  • You're making lgbt statesmen look like those in your former Republican "camp", that is those who are in favor of censorship, and misrepresention of whoever doesn't immediately catch our reactionary fancy. I think you need an education, to counter what you learned at home, but aren't I the ideologue.....You need to let comments that you don't agree with add to the dialogue, instead of deleting them all the time. Frustrated, but essentialy in agreement with you. Not that you can tell or anything.

  • kern0099, depfox doesnt delete comments.

  • @kern0099 I think you are really way off base. I do not censor my subscribers. You can go to any video of ours on youtube and scroll through the comments and see that we dont censor. I know you have a problem with me, but please be a little bit more rational.

  • Arghh!!!! comments deleted again. must be you tube, which means we'll continue to both be confused...as for rationality, you should start with a little reason..beginning with cause and effect. Just a suggestion, you might want to jump to that conclusion since that what you are doing here anyway. Sheesh.

  • @Kern0099 I never remove any comments from videos. The only comments I do remove is when they attack my kids or go after commenter's that are debating an issue. If you start calling people names then I may remove a comment if you are just being mean spirited. As for attacking your communtiy im not sure what you are talking about "Davey Wavey" ? As for my front page I remove comments from there if they are offensive to my "community". I hope I am not being as vague as you are.

  • You speak of many of the members of the lgbt community as "apathetic" for all straight assh*les to see and get a laugh out of. Why do you want to misrepresent us like that? I don't know you people in the 'burbs, and I guess I am mistaken to think you remember our earlier exchanges, but this has been a theme with you. Talk about head scratching, you have a LOT of leftist history to catch up on, but seriously, you two are inspiring to me and the partner, I just hope you are savvier soon.

  • Kern0099 Ok so I was right this is left over from Davey Wavey! AYE CARUMBA...

  • Are you kidding me ?!?! Watch your OWN VIDEO, the one at the top of this thread, and tell me you didn't call everyone out as being apathetic?!? If you don't understand the implications of what you yourself are saying, then i can't compete with that kind of lack of insight. THIS MOVEMENT IS NOT ALL ABOUT JAY LEFFEW!!!!! there I said it. damn.

  • @kern0099 depfox is a gay man, you have no real idea of what prejudice people face unless you are in their shoes. So for you to say he misrepresents straight people is stupid, he just talks about what he has seen. I used to think black people didn't face prejudice anymore, as a white man I can't see their point of view, but they aren't just complaining for the sake of complaining. Both groups say they are are prejudiced against, so they must have a valid reason for feeling that way.

  • huh??? I'm gay, we've had many posts back and forth, you lost the thread.

  • Oh, many apologies kern. I thought you when you said "us" you meant straight people. Deepest apologies, I am straight myself, but believe in equality, unlike more brutish fellows. A friend of mine who's a pharmacist and a gay man from Lebanon is the nicest person I know.

  • I'd actually register as a Socialist here in IA. if I was allowed to on the form (I've belonged to this party for almost a decade, now); but, I'm compelled to vote either Rep, Dem, or Ind. *groan*

  • it hasn't mattered if you are a republican or democrat for the last 100 years, just like over here in the UK it doesn't matter if you are for Labour or Conservative. It has taken us all this last 100 years to start waking up to this, and YT and the internet is a major player in this. These bastards have to be stopped.

  • How is this news to you?

  • Death to democracy is a very accurate title. Sometimes rulers have absolutely NO common sense. Go you Jay! good look as an independent !

  • Oh I forgot to congratulate on leaving the Republican party.

  • I am still recovering from the fact that some gay men and lesbians voted for the homophobic Brown and now this.

This was a very sad day for all Americans and I hate to say this but the same 5 "ACTIVIST" judges will rule against us when the the prop 8 arrives at the supreme court.

  • Capitalism at it's finest!

If this is not overturned, if anything is to be the spark that sets a socialist revolution ablaze, this is it.

  • @TheRedAtheist

Hear hear! Conservatives say that if this country goes any farther left, it will ignite a grassroots conservative revolution.

But like you, and think it's quite the opposite.

  • This has nothing to do with capitalism, this is about 5 justices who believe that corporations should be treated the same as individuals when donating to politicians(which is complete bullshit). Even if it is capitalism's fault you think socialism is any better. To me socialism is fascism nicely.

  • @amateurrevolutionary forgive me if I fail to see your logic, but what???!! This has nothing to do with capitalism?! It has everything to do with capitalism, the "freedom" of corporations to do whatever they please, the "freedom" of the rich to spend their money for power and control, to spend in ways which are not for the best interests of the majority and the lower classes. That is pure capitalism.

  • @TheRedAtheist I still place all the blame on the justices that influenced this decision. Also, do you think that rich individuals are any less power and control hungry in any other social, economic, or government system. I do agree that big companies already have why to much involvement in the American political system, but we as consumers must hold them accountable for their actions. From your name I can tell you lean far left, I just can't trust the government that much.

  • Glad you raised this! Sadly, people have the attention span of gnats. Too many soundbits out there. Never enough time to digest/distill them in-depth before elections with a critical eye. With busier lives today the challenge and onus upon voters to put in the necessary work, to be even more educated, informed, aware, and discerning of what politicians, their backers, and the media SAY and DO before sending them to office is essential- and to vote! Was it ever oherwise in a healthy democracy?

  • This is sad. Really really fucking sad. Welcome to the United States of Aristocracy.

  • And a new chapeter begins.....

  • So whether it is done this way or by taking that same money to "lobby" the"LAWMAKERS" pockets on golf courses all across the Nation. (the way it has been done for years)...we have to face the fact that Cooperations have been running this country for years.

No need to be ashamed of the Republican party. The blind faith that "our" people put in the Democratic Party was misguided. They are not the answer and have back peddled since Obama's election. ( some of us knew it was coming)

    HISTORY TEACHES

  • Jay I LOVE how passionate you are! It makes me feel guilty: I'm 22, single, and not a parent, and I don't have even half the energy you do. But anways, thanks for getting the word out there about it. I'm not a citizen, and so can not vote, but I still find it quite disturbing that businesses and individuals have an equal platform.

  • Very well said, Jay! I couldn't agree with you more. When I heard about this the other day, I was shocked. I immediately signed a few petitions to try to have this changed through legislation. I have to admit that I'm a little glad you are changing to be an Independent, but that's just me. ;)

  • It really is just Corporate American vs. Americans. It has been for years. The parties stopped mattering years ago, it's just a show now. Democrats won't change anything. It's all the same, unfortunately.

  • The Supreme Court only interpreted what the Constitution says or implies.

What we need is a Constitutional Amendment to fix this once and for all.

We need to return the United States to "We the People".

  • I had heard about this two days ago and wrote my letters then. I am checking our Alan Grayson's petition that someone else mentioned in a comment also.

How many of you would write, call or email the TV station if your favorite show was canceled? If you would do that, then you MUST write our elected officials now! Or, there will be a time when we won't be able to call them elected...they will be bought officials. Bought and paid for by corporate money.

  • BTW, Jay...good for you for seeing the light and leaving the Republicans and going Independent.

  • Yes that what it as. both dems and reps are fucked up. We have some few independents we can rely on, like alan keys, ron paul, peter schiff, on the right, and that dude of California, I dont recall the name, on the left

  • Obama is not to be trusted. I've known voters who were disapointed that he hasnt done a singel thing but mess everything up.

  • One suggestion, is to change your party affiliation to "Undecded" and then vote in EVERY local election for candidates who take on the status quo. If you lean Repub, beware!!!!! the Dems are part of the problem now, but your party is asking for fascism, and endless war. Think about it.

  • The two party system will be the downfall of our nation, Im changing my party affiliation too.

  • wow if u want a very visible step toward "end of days" I'd say this is it! Thanks for the article!

  • Glad to see that you are waking up just a bit. Think ya still have a ways to go, but it's a start. :o)

Obama is still not your friend though. Don't be misled.

I've been trying to steer away from the politics/news for the last month but it seems they keep doing things to pull me back in.

It's sad, but the majority of folks out there do not realize what is happening in this country. They prefer to turn a blind eye. That will be their downfall in the long run. Citizens beware.

  • Welcome to the Facist States of America!

  • "american democracy" has been an oxymoron for decades. didnt you get the memo?

  • The system is not going to change, it cannot be changed from within. The only way for change is to starve the beast. Get out of all stocks, bonds, cds and retirement plans. Keep a minimum amount of money in the bank for bills only. Ditch all credit and debit cards. Buy gold, silver, ammo, guns and food. Get to know the Neighbors. Goldman Sacks runs the Government they too can be brought down by Starving the Beast.

  • @jimbobubbadj Exactly, and government has enslaved us to the fed though the interest we owe on every dollar. Until the American people wake up and realize our entire financial system is based on debt we will never have "change".

  • this is why i am not a democrat or republican i just want a equal rights and a good president

  • Why would anyone think that corporations should decide policy? Let alone a Supreme Court Justice who has just witnessed first hand how government deregulation of lending institutions in the United States has destabilized the entire world economy. Corporations are suddenly endowed with a conscience greater than that of the voting public? I have no words. Corporations are driven by profit, period. Governments should be driven by the safety and wellbeing of citizens, period. Profit is secondary.

  • That is definately a serious issue espiecally with how much money religious cooperations have. In New Zealand we had an issue because our scopes that the millitary have are the best that our millitary can get impoted from the US but they have bible refrences on them which can be mistaken for a product code. I also think Obama will fight this because he started from the ground up

  • I have never been a political person, then again politics in my country are not as...swift to go from okay to worse atleast not like the US it seems. Unfortunately your country is going from "for the people", to for the money. I know every country has their greedy politicians but wiping laws to promote that greediness, is just throwing away what the people have left. Hopefully things will change for the better down the road for your country and its government.

  • No it won't.

  • Hummm I wonder how many of those larger corporations are dominated by the Christian Right Republicans and now can very effectively BUY their way to extinquishing our civil rights. Its all connected Im sure, Alito and Roberts are bigots. Quite depressing.

  • so does this mean. Bill Gates and Micosoft will rule us for real now?

  • Im writing the 3 letters for sure ! The Rep justices are responsible! And youre Republican? No offense but Yes its certainly shocking ! That party is dominated by the Christian right and has effectively kept us from equality and justice.for the last 30 years. From Reagan in the 80's who ignored and escalated the AIDS crisis to Bush who called for an Ammendment to kill gay marriage. That party is evil in all forms. Certainly being an Independant would be more honorable. Right on!

  • @wiannoboy I am leaving the Republican party I have lost all respect for it. I do think that somtimes trying to fight from the inside out can be more effective then leaving. I think at this time in history we are heading towards a breakdown of American society. So if it is time to choose a side then I will pick mine.

  • This is about censorship & the double standard! Everyone (even corporations) should be able to express their opinion on any given candidate. GE owns controlling stock in NBC & for years they've been allowing their political ideology to be voiced thru their news media outlets. Why shouldn't non-media corporations be given the same freedoms? Democrats've been in bed w/ big business & unions for years. Now it's a level playing field?

  • Write to Obama ? He just lost the last power he had. Write to Walmart instead. :))

  • Jay don't feel bad I'm a Republican also

  • @scottneuman82 Is it time that we get ride our labels and look at each person for their platform? In this matter I will have to decide with the Democrats. It was nice to see john mccain come out agisnt this ruling.

  • @scottneumann82

A gay Republican to me is like hearing a Christian Fundamentalist say hes a Democrat ! Pretty rare

  • Trust me If you would have known me when i was 18 and went to register you'd know why

  • I don't understand this "registering as a republican thing". Don't you just go and vote for whoever you want on the day?

  • @orangegoblin82 The rules vary from state to state.

  • @orangegoblin82 the way things are here in CA is you have a primary B4 the election that lets each party pick who they want to pick to represent your party. This is where I think my vote most counts in the Republican party. Only republicans can vote in their own primaries. So when I vote I vote for the most moderate person that I think holds my world view. Sadly the most conservative usely wins and goes on to challenge the Democrat.

  • @wiannoboy I do disagree with you. It doesnt matter if a person is registered a Democrat or a Republican. What is more important is how and who they vote for. I am a Republican but I voted for Obama. I would have no problem with a Conservative Chriatian Demcrat as long as they dont vote against my rights. Hmm well I was a Republican I guess they are more rare.

  • @depfox

Yes youre right, its the vote that counts.

Realistically, I think the chances of a Conservative Christian Democrat or Republican voting in favor of our Civil Rights is slim to none right now.

Youre doing a wonderful job in an attempt to change peoples outlook on gay life with your videos...so maybe some Christians will see the light.

The rest of us can work in our communities, become visible so people dont consider us alien, and do our part as well.

  • Or how about an atheist Republican? Yep, we have one right here on YT and I am proud to be his friend. Like Jay, he is questioning his association and I would wager, will be withdrawing his membership in the next month's time.

  • An Atheist Republican?. lol...ok The Republican Party was honorable and had some notable accomplishments before 1960. The party of Lincoln used to mean something before Christian Fundamentalists began their terror in the 70's and became the rulers of the GOP. First tricky Dick Nixon (Watergate) Then came Ford(pardoned Nixon)Reagan(ignored AIDS due to Christian pressure)and finally the Two BUSHwacks (need I say more?)

  • @wiannoboy Red is the color of socialism. It was traditionally the color of the left and the democrats until the 2000 election. It's a long story but basically during the 2000 election they decided to change the colors of the states to the opposite in order to seem unbiased.

  • I know....who would have thunk it? '

He is socially liberal and fiscally conservative. He considers himself to be a Goldwater Republican. He is an awesome man but I will be happy to see him take leave of his official party affiliation.

  • Wow...loved Goldwater, a moderate Republican who was fair and had a bipartisan attitude. A real patriot. I would have voted for him if I was alive in '64 when he ran for Pres. Where have those Republicans gone? Theyre extinct I think. RIP Barry.

  • Corporations are a big problem. But governments are married to them. Representatives are quite often bought and paid for. And that is why I would discourage growth of government in certain areas. This particular issue is ridiculous, I know, and I hope it gets overturned and you guys won't have to worry.

Also, I remember Jesse Ventura saying the same thing about the Nascar suits. One of my favorite ideas!

  • But that standard is too high for most of them. The Democrats didn't cut off funding for the Iraq war once they gained control of the congress.

And there is money. The Military Industrial Complex has always been directly involved in geopolitics. War is a racket, and peace sells but who's buying?

So I agree wholeheartedly with you. It isn't about Republicans and Democrats, but about autonomous individuals who will change things through free thought and taking in knowledge of real issues.
