1:10 "nearly THREE billion hunks of well-done steak." Correct in 1959 when this song was recorded, but today would have to be amended to "SEVEN billion" to be accurate! Think about how much the world has changed in the last 50 years!
@BlakeLBoggs There's a quest called 'We will all go together' that you get by talking to the NCR commander at Camp Searchlight. I haven't done it yet, though.
@MisdirectedSasha Yes, you collect irradiated NCR dogtags from feral ghouls. One of them is still pretty lucid, though. It's a bitch to find him, he's hiding in a house.
I personally like the fact that this song is about 40 years old and is as fresh when it comes to viewpoint as anything that was written in the past couple of years.
The horrible fact is that we will all go together when we go - except for those who have undisclosed locations in which to ride out the nuclear fallout.
Ah, but I also know the general gist of how to survive the fallout, assuming I'm not baked instantly. o: Nukes are funny like that....if you're not mortally injured/killed/disentigrated right away, your chances of survival are actually pretty good. You may get cancer, but that's still a long-term death, not a short-term one.
True, true, but wouldn't it be better to die with everyone else, so you didn't feel like you left them all alone, and so you didn't miss them? That would be great.
I haven't heard a performance of this that DOES have the d"...do not collect 200 Dollllahs...." since the original recording on "Tom Lehrer -- An Evening Wasted With..." (his original first album)
It's supposed to be where they have the little musical bit towards the end... "You will all go directly to your respective Val--hallas, go directly, do not pass go, do not collect $200" This version is missing quite a bit actually.
The version I learned as a child is 3 minutes and 29 seconds... so almost a full minute has been cut from this one.
@MrsChiefccm So quite a few people have said. You knoq its been so lng i cant even remember where i got this song from. Thanks a million for your comment though, lol this is quite a quiet video
Yeah, why did you cut out the Valhallas line, it's my favorite too. nice photos, but I think you have WAY too much time on your hands to find all that stuff.
Come on John, I've been a video editor for 30 years...it would be impossible to com up with the ideas, find all those photos, import and put them on a timeline and cut them to the beat in 15 minutes! I wouldn't even believe that you could do this in 5 hours! Do you have access to some well-organized stock photo database listed via elaborate descriptions you can use as a search?
ya really. for instance you want soemthing to go with "char", just type in "char" to google image and find something that fits.... it is really simple that way...
Amazing song, a shame it misses out my favourite line though... "you will all go to your respected Valhallas, go directly do not pass go do not collect two-hundred dollars"
If my neighbors will go too...it might be worth it. By the way, have you seen the Star Wars version?

The library on my college campus was built to be a nuclear fallout shelter, so I think I'll be one of the few this song doesn't apply to. XD

Aha! But, Redward, you will be leaving your college campus sometime (don't know if you're staff or student).
I suggest that you stay there indefinitely....

Great song, but IMHO your choice of images is a bit too literal! No offence meant, but a couple of mushroom cloud images might not have gone astray
