  • If my neighbors will go too...it might be worth it. By the way, have you seen the Star Wars version?

    /watch?v=fU2mwrxRQyA

  • Why hasn't this been in a Fallout game?

  • @BlakeLBoggs

Good question. They do reference it once in New Vegas, though.

  • @MisdirectedSasha

    Where/When?

I have it, but I might have missed it.

  • @BlakeLBoggs There's a quest called 'We will all go together' that you get by talking to the NCR commander at Camp Searchlight. I haven't done it yet, though.

  • @MisdirectedSasha Yes, you collect irradiated NCR dogtags from feral ghouls. One of them is still pretty lucid, though. It's a bitch to find him, he's hiding in a house.

  • Alas, what a frightening (yet strangely uptempo) song...

  • EPIC WIN for the misery part XD

  • I wonder if this song's ever been heard in North Korea?

  • Lol at the Friends and Neighbours pictures...

  • I personally like the pic of simultaneous chess

  • I personally like the fact that this song is about 40 years old and is as fresh when it comes to viewpoint as anything that was written in the past couple of years.

The horrible fact is that we will all go together when we go - except for those who have undisclosed locations in which to ride out the nuclear fallout.

Tom Lehrer was telling it a way long time ago....

  • The library on my college campus was built to be a nuclear fallout shelter, so I think I'll be one of the few this song doesn't apply to. XD

  • Aha! But, Redward, you will be leaving your college campus sometime (don't know if you're staff or student).

I suggest that you stay there indefinitely....

  • Ah, but I also know the general gist of how to survive the fallout, assuming I'm not baked instantly. o: Nukes are funny like that....if you're not mortally injured/killed/disentigrated right away, your chances of survival are actually pretty good. You may get cancer, but that's still a long-term death, not a short-term one.

  • So you'll have that going for you, which is nice.

  • Lehrer's a great artist, and this is a very good edit.

  • Ha ha ha!! This is great, what better way to deal with such a subject. This Tom guy is brilliant. You made me smile, great editing!!!

  • haha the pic from romeo and juliet.

  • Very well done (no pun intended). I especially liked the collie (sad) and the pic from "Misery" (clever). Have you seen the "Star Wars" version?

    /watch?v=fU2mwrxRQyA

  • all suffused with an incandecent glow....

  • Where have I heard that before? o:

  • I love that song!

    Thaks!

  • Gosh, the world's population has more than doubled since he wrote this.

  • So if you'd do a cover of this, you could maybe or maybe not make it "seven billion".

  • Lol, I love this song.

  • I loved that song

  • Lol I love Tom, cuz whenever I feel gloomy I just listen to his songs and I feel better ^.^

  • I know what you mean, but the fact that all dying together makes you feel better is a bit ... morose

  • True, true, but wouldn't it be better to die with everyone else, so you didn't feel like you left them all alone, and so you didn't miss them? That would be great.

  • ha haaa he's got a point

    (still don't wanna die though)

  • i'm laughing but i'm scared...lol

  • haha tom kan make any sad idea in something like art, even death :P

  • this is going to play at my funeral.

    no question.

  • thats my line

  • I'm torn between this or Take Five as i disappear behind the curtain

  • A rhyming genius!

  • the line Kevin is referring to is...."You will all go to your respective Valhallas....do not pass Go...do not collect two hundred dollahs"

  • Isn't there a line about "do not collect go, do not collect $200"?

  • yea but this profomance cuts it out

  • @johnkollor Are there any that don't cut it out?

  • @Ultramarine646 Well i haven't personaly heard it so but i have no doubt there must be

  • I haven't heard a performance of this that DOES have the d"...do not collect 200 Dollllahs...." since the original recording on "Tom Lehrer -- An Evening Wasted With..." (his original first album)

  • It's supposed to be where they have the little musical bit towards the end... "You will all go directly to your respective Val--hallas, go directly, do not pass go, do not collect $200" This version is missing quite a bit actually.

The version I learned as a child is 3 minutes and 29 seconds... so almost a full minute has been cut from this one.

  • @MrsChiefccm So quite a few people have said. You knoq its been so lng i cant even remember where i got this song from. Thanks a million for your comment though, lol this is quite a quiet video

  • This is one of the cheeriest and most morbid songs I've ever heard. I'm not sure whether to laugh or be seriously creeped out.

  • same lol i do love tom lehrer though

  • @BanditRingtail23 This happens to me with a lot of Tom Lehrer songs...

  • I only wish Enrico Ferme had lived to hear this witty ditty about nuclear annihilation.

  • nobody at the wake... XD

  • this song is..strange.

  • but good ea? lol

  • warm and fuzzy :D hope everyone has a nice day. could be our last!

  • Should have said that to diana.

  • This song is always a pleasure.

And knowing that the cast of "Friends" and "Neighbors" will share our atomic fate should it ever happen does make me feel better about it.

    Nice one!

  • Yeah, why did you cut out the Valhallas line, it's my favorite too. nice photos, but I think you have WAY too much time on your hands to find all that stuff.

  • hay man sorry this version of the song cut that out. Ea and i really dont have that much time, this took 15 min to make

  • Come on John, I've been a video editor for 30 years...it would be impossible to com up with the ideas, find all those photos, import and put them on a timeline and cut them to the beat in 15 minutes! I wouldn't even believe that you could do this in 5 hours! Do you have access to some well-organized stock photo database listed via elaborate descriptions you can use as a search?

  • Try Google, lol this was made in 15 min using google, and microsoft movie maker. Serious mate

  • ya really. for instance you want soemthing to go with "char", just type in "char" to google image and find something that fits.... it is really simple that way...

  • i was told this song was bout STDs...

  • LMFAO! It's about nuclear war

  • This song always reminds me of the ending of Dr. Strangelove.

  • My other video has the song used in the ending, Its by Vera Lynn, just incase you didnt know., ty for the comment

  • "We'll meet again, don't know how, don't know when...."

  • Wonderfully put together! Thanks for the laugh!!

  • 2:08

    istockphoto!

  • yep

  • Amazing song, a shame it misses out my favourite line though... "you will all go to your respected Valhallas, go directly do not pass go do not collect two-hundred dollars"

    Genius.

  • Ive never heard that line before, thanks for informing me

  • Yes, i remember that line too, might be from the "An Evening Wasted with Tom Lehrer" album.

  • Tom Lehrer, is insanely funny. I love his music

  • I love this song but I'm having a hard time watching it with images of real people really crying over real loved ones.

I might have used silent film or cartoon scenes.

  • "Universal berevement, and inspiring achievment!" LMAO, my favourite tom lehrer song

  • It's pretty wonderful, indeed! It's actually "Universal bereavement: an inspiring achievement!", tho'

  • =O Of course! Sorry lol

  • Great song, but IMHO your choice of images is a bit too literal! No offence meant, but a couple of mushroom cloud images might not have gone astray

  • I have to admit your right, the radeoactive bit at the end could have used one. And i ment to be literal, thanks for the comment

  • I dunno, the image choices made me laugh, it just added to the satire!

  • I agree! :D

I laughed rather gaily when I saw the scene from Misery used for "misery".

  • Best song, I swear.

  • te too, this is one of his best songs simply because it makes such a sad topic cheery

  • I LOVE LEHRER.
