can anyone enlighten me why the size of the bet directly effects the odds of hitting a spade 3,5 or 9 for Eric. He has 17 outs or 39.96% chance of hitting. But i dont get how the 116000 bet compared to just a 100,000 bet effects makes it less worth calling. To me it just seems like these are two seperate variables but they obviously effect eachother somehow... help?
its not that the bet size affects the probability to win, the bet size affects whether calling would be profitable over time. for example if you have to call a certain percentage of the pot to win an amount, you need to have the correct odds to win to make it profitable over time. eg. the pot is $200 and your opponent bets $100. you have to call $100 to win the $300 pot, so you'd have to think that you had a 33% chance to win the hand. by betting large amounts you can out price drawing hands
thats true but you have missunderstod the pot odds thing. its going to be 25% not 33 because you will be winning 400 not 300 because thats what the total of the pot will be. I think Daniel Negreanu is the best living player and his reads are spectacular. I'm watching a lot of this HSP-videos and been realizing, that Daniel chanched his way of play 180° away from a bluffer and potstealer to a girliesplay serious nutzraiser. Impossible for HSP-player to show their real pokerknowledge to other players and wellknown opponents.

Gus didnt actually make that big a profit. Remember he bought in for 400k and that cooler hand with negreanu was 500k so he made 100k profit overall. meaning he mustv lost a fair bit of his starting stack prior.

It is abig decision. They run it twice to limit variance, but you suggest that it would be run twice to try and beat odds. In short, the fact that they would run it twice is extremely unlikely to factor into his decision making, as he will be making decisions based on what is profitable over time.

In chop pots, the extra chip/chips can go to the closest player to the dealer in a clockwise direction OR to the player with the highest hole card, ie spade heart diamond club. It depends on the individual casino ruling. ;-)
