Liberals expect the government to do it. I live in San Francisco, filled with Libs, and the feeling here is charity is demeaning to the poor. While government entitlements are human rights. According to them.
What's particularly frightening about right-wingers in general within the US is how so many of them, meaning, those who espouse and abide right-wing/authoritarian traits and tenets, do not realize that they *are* right-wingers...mainly because for decades the movement has gone under the euphemistic/Orwellian banner "conservative," which of course *sounds better* to those who seek to legislate prejudice, hatred, religious beliefs, and support a Welfare $tate (for the wealthy only) & Police State.
@TheeUnidentified Whats very frightening is LIBERALS from san francisco, seattle and so forth. Why is it all the major cities, look like trash cause of left wing idealogy.
Hitler or Marx being Jews (or half Jews) hated their people - they desperately wanted to be Germans - "master race". They despised Jews (heavily socialist now), Poles (brainwashed for socialism after soviet occupation), Irish (there is no right wing party in Ireland and you can hear marxist propaganda in churches!).
People who want to be accepted in new country are biggest patriots and are capable of doing worst things to prove it. Socialism being a faith (like islam) makes them neophytes.
I thought Jews were a nation without a land and that's why they were easy falling for internationalist ideology. In utopian Soviet World there would be no nations and all people would be equal... so they thought there would be no discrimination too.
i'd like a "really good explanation" of why supposedly intelligent liberty seekers embrace language death monuments to the same idiocy they're disparaging. "liberal" is from the latin "liber", meaning free. there has never been a more disgustingly sinister anti-free movement than what is preposterously called "liberalism". shame on anyone buying that racket, especially when pretending to loathe it.
@2ndAsstJizzMopper it's only called that in US.... it's an effect of marxist propaganda and typical socialist words grabbing (changing meaning of words). They are good in infiltrating movements and parties too - Democrats, Greenpeace etc.
Liberty seekers in US just gave up fighting with overwhelming propaganda machine so they call themselves libertarians now. In Europe socialist would say "liberal / liberals" hissing with disgust ;-)
grraadd, making a new accurate term to offset language kill is far different (not necessarily defensible though) from participating in the rape of another.
@2ndAsstJizzMopper I know what you mean - I would expect from people with public esteem to straight language out too. They would risk being misunderstand though.
grraadd, looks like you don't understand what i mean. no risk of being misunderstood calling a lover of goonery any term adequately conveying that status. i am not here advocating that a classical liberal call himself liberal without qualification outside of intelligent circles. i spoke here because there is never any justification for labeling as liberal a liberty loather. at the very least, quote marks should be used. no exception. only risk of misunderstanding comes from not doing so.
this is really good explanation. I think it really is taking the easy way out to take some of the big-government liberal positions. It sounds great and compassionate on the surface, but it's really the libertarian who has to defend himself and thinks about issues on a much deeper level, even if that position is unpopular.
wishing I could show this too my roommate, who is jewish AND liberal x_X;

30% of Jews voted for Mccain in 2008, while only 4% of blacks did.

Several studies have shown that conservatives give a higher percentage AND a higher total of charitable dollars than liberals.

What about the fact that some people are merely brainwashed by false ideologies? All groups included.
