  • ok i installed and the game loads the map then my screen goes black and it says a "NOT SUPPORTED" is bouncing around the screen....any ideas..? i then have to hard shut my pc :(

  • erm you think a P38 should outturn at low speeds with 6 rockets on your wings? DOH!! :D

  • Arghhhh I need to get back in AH!

Did you know you were fighting heavy with rockets?

  • Arghhhh I need to get back in AH!

  • awesome teamwork guys,

is my mate bruv911 still playing this game ??

  • hahaha.. makes me want to get back in the game!!

But seriously... What the Fk is that 16bit version of Gustav Holst.. bloody atrocious!

  • do you REALLY need a joystick for this game?

  • No, it's possible to fly without a joystick. A very few pilots claim that they can even fly competitively with a joystick. However, the vast, vast majority of Aces High pilots agree with me that trying to substitute the mouse for a joystick is difficult, cumbersome, awkward, confusing, disorienting, disturbing, and noncompetitive.

  • @bbosen did the radio just say this is sports channel im up obove hooliganville O.O @ :2

  • good game for free

  • wth is that voice at 0:34 ??? sounds like this text to voice program i have lol

  • At 7:00 cut engines for 2 sec, air brakes, reduce throttle while still straffing. That will cause him to Overshoot and apply full throttle and put engines back on. You 'd have him

  • @halakie oh , he might need a time machine to pull that off :P

  • That was a great fight This is one of the best fights I have ever seen from u besides a few when I flew against you.

  • great video! i know most ppl are better in a P-38, but oddly, im best in other planes. like the Seafire and the Wildcat. well, enough said!

  • lol was that MA or a setup DF cuz ive played the game for a year an ive been in a few figths like that

  • That fight took place in their old "free 8-player" mode, which is no longer available, unfortunately. However, the online "Main Arena" is amazing, and fights like the one I described in the movie are still available. Also, I've heard that they may someday bring back an 8-player mode, but it will no longer be free. I look forward to that, because I prefer the smaller groups where I can set up a historically and/or geographically accurate encounter from time to time.

  • Where can i get this game

  • The internet

  • this is the best Aces High video i've seen so far. This video truely shows what Aces High is, yet this is only about 1/300 of what you can do in the simulator.

    great vid. 5/5

  • The only thing missing is where one of you gets picked. OOPs! There it is! LOL

FYI - get 1k or so and set .speed 220 and gradually start climbing, when you can, hit auto climb, the 38 will climb away from the pony. (It'll climb away from almost anything at .speed 220)

  • Wow that was alot of work for a single kill. Its a good thing your wingman was there to bail you out because the P51 turned the tables on you.

    Nice video.

  • how come your plane responds so well, mine takes 10 seconds to react

  • Well shrien, I remember thinking exactly those thoughts when I first began. It seemed everybody could out-turn me. With experience, I learned to keep my aircraft operating at or near optimum speed for each altitude. Every aircraft has "speed zones", at every altitude, where it reacts and turns optimally. An experienced opponent will know these details about his own aircraft, and will try to force you to fight on his terms, when your own aircraft is way outside that optimal zone.

  • The 38 is one of the best turning planes in the game if you know how to use flaps efficiently.

  • PS a good 38 flyer can turn the tables on a Pony thats on his six and should not run from him. There is a risk that the Pony gets a hit when you turn into him, but he is already in trouble so the wise thing to do is turn back to the Pony.

  • LOL! Hit 2 trees and didn't blow up! were they really that under modeled back then? :)

  • I just got lucky. I've never hit a tree branch in real life from an airplane, but I do know that it was commonplace in low-level combat, and that there were many, many survivors of such incidents. In the film you can see that these two encounters were very mild scrapes....

  • I tried this game for a few days.I found servers with quite a few people but i couldnt find them so i gave up on the game

  • i personally like this game and what is an f97

  • I know what peabody was flying but what was freeair fly another mustang and what kind of p-51 was the bandit fllying

  • Both "FreeAir" and "Pigface" were in "D"-model P51s.

  • thank you

  • do the german planes have there historical tail mark?

  • He was smoking for ages he would have gone down pretty much straight after he started. P-51s are very vulnerable to shots in the engine as they are liquid cooled.

  • Good job on turning 38 its pretty good when it is keep fast but look me up im a rook :)

  • High alt must be a Rook

  • Dang...

  • awosome voice masker

  • Ha i played online for a while with a mouse and keyboard killed a couple people but i got slaughtered alot. Hey quick question on the offline mode can you set the opposing fighter planes(the dummy ones that circle airfields) to attack you? like actually follow you and shoot you?

  • No. The "drone" planes are just target drones. They won't fight back. You can practice your gunnery against them, but the real fun requires an online subscription.

  • Now we have missions though so you can fight AI pilots.

  • man, thats pitiful shooting, especailly if u in a 38

  • Yeah. I was really off that day, but it's one of the reasons why this movie is more interesting than the ones where I slaughter newbies like baby seal puppies....

  • Forget to turn off Combat Trim? Really helps when you shoot to have that off... but you know this already =D

    Odee

  • No. The real problem that day was that I had not yet learned to set gun convergence. In prior versions of Aces High that had not been necessary in the P38, whose center-mounted guns shouldn't require that detail. However, I learned soon after this encounter that with AH2 it helps a LOT, even in the P38, to set convergence. I usually set it out at 600 yards. Without that setting, gunnery isn't very accurate (as shown here).

  • i loved the p51 in that game, great controll

  • you need a joystick for this game? i played it but coudnt move nor take off so i uninstalled it

  • You don't NEED a joystick. It's possible to control the simulated plane with just mouse and keyboard, but it's awkward, cumbersome, and isn't competitive. If you attempt this versus somebody that has a good joystick, you'll be slaughtered and it definitely won't be fun!

  • hey i used to play on 8 player to (used to)

and i often played at the solomon islands it was up for about 2 weeks at the most.

Anyway you shoot me down im my c.205 love that plane

  • I don't quite agree, Props2u. The 38 pilot was kicking his tail up until around 4:50 or so- I was chanting "go for the scissors!" and go for the scissors he did. You can see where it pays off at 4:53- the Mustang is pulling hard left while the Lightning is still banked a little to the right. This is before he says his controls locked up, though that sped up the switch in advantage. I think the Mustang pilot would have eventually forced the Lightning to overshoot.

  • nice...check out me vid of CFS3

  • how did u get those sounds? i hate the original Aces High 2 sounds

  • So, it took two of you to finally beat 1 opponet? At one point, if the other guy had not saved your butt, you would have been worm food. The Mustang pilot managed his "E" way better.

  • That's correct, and it's what makes this film more intersting than most. I tire of showing films in which I simply slaughter innocent, helpless dweebs LOL.

  • I disagree. This guy was controlling his E nicely and was staying above the enemy but then his controls stuck and thats all it takes to lose the advantage. He has a faster turning plane but with a stang on your butt if you turn and give him a giant target itll rip you up. If the controls didnt stick the lightning had him solo.

  • it take a while to start up a plane right? it some many control have to do! so, much buttons

  • i prefer il 2 to this game lol still good game tho lol

  • omg i downloaded this game, and ive played it... kind of, because i cant take off! can someoneplease tell me how? its so confusing i just dont get it.... somebody please tell me how.

  • Hold shift and the + sign to increase speed, and the minus sign to decrease speed

  • Im sorry, i noticed a P-38 just now after watching again

  • Nice, realistic. What plane?

  • do a barrel roll!

  • nice job! looked like you did that with a few rockets too. Good to see pilots flying planes that take some skill rather than spits and temps <S>

  • i hate aces high

i once downloaded it and tried it out, but everytime i took off and flew with the landing gears out for a little bit, it just blew off the plane, and i couldn't land.

also, when i was about to land i couldn't get out the landing gears it wouldn't let me

  • to bring in landing gear hit the "g" key and you have to be going under 200 mph for your landing gear to come out

  • if this game is FTP then expect to see someone Colliding In a Dogfight i like the look of this since its WW2 and usually there wouldnt be an kind of Lock On Missiles... which i like cause ive played Warrock and i hate the skilless newbs able to easily take down an ace pilot in a plane with Lock on Rockets that they have like 500 of and do like 1/2 xD

  • hmm...not the most impressive dogfight untill you started running then it got more about survival. Most dogfights I'm in are usually encounters agaisnt Spits with me in my trusty Hurri, they on average are only 45 seconds to 2 minutes long depending on who I'm fighting against

  • The music in a REALLY small fashion reminded me of Star Fox 64...

  • Nice, pretty intense dogfight, great ending. It's cool how your guy mowed him down in support.

  • hey i am gunit222 on there been playing for a ahwile

  • the guy in the p38 didnt do too hot i wouldve had the guy in the mustang dead within the first 2 and a half minutes of the game

  • try having 17 mig 21 inbound what you do then

  • Pony shouldve owned the 38L at Mid to low alt..AND the 38 was Hvy...after the Oil hit i would gotten out of dodge to fight another day. Pony guns arent that great in game..you really gotta lay it on thick to get a kill.

  • so is that you talking or wat and i want that game when does it come out?

  • its out but you pay 15 $ a month to playgo to google type in aces high 2

  • however if you didnt download it yeat 8 player is free!

  • Good doghfight, Peabody. In the game i'm Horten, my another account is gotha02.

Can you host another time the Peabody islands? It was a cool arena...

  • Horten huh? I know you, I'm FlyingFoxx not sure if you remember me. Everytime I saw you I was tempted to ask "Did you hear a who?" X3

  • dude thats not 15,000FT your near the curviture of the earth. Your like 45,000FT

  • That's the best thing I've seen so far on YouTube. I used to play awhile ago. I think I may have to get back on. When did II come out, and how is it? Is there a split community now with some playing Aces High, and others playing Aces High II, or did everyone migrate?

  • I'm glad you enjoyed it. Aces High II came out about 2.5 years ago, and it was a difficult transition, requireing MUCH more computer power. But nowadays almost any modern games machine can handle it.The original version (Aces High) is no longer supported. Try it again... I bet you'll like it!

  • why did you not try to shake him off, instead of going north all the time? :/

  • It was a calculated risk. I know from experience that it's hard to hit a P38 from directly behind (due to the narrow profile), and I had enough distance that I was willing to gamble he would run out of ammo trying to bring me down. Also, I knew I would need to return to my home airbase eventually (to refuel and rearm), and that friends were there that might be willing to lend me a hand.

  • is it still a big game online?

  • Yes, Aces High is still very popular.
