Baffling. The UK is already the most influential player in the EU on H&S. Legislation that "comes from Brussels" often originates in the UK in the first place. Lofstedts "evidenced based report" is set against govt rhetoric about the cost and complication of H&S rules; pandering to the CBI and IoD. But UK PLC only suffers costs because, unlike some other member states, we actually ENFORCE the regulations the EU makes. Govt should be fighting UK corner to make rest of EU come up to our standards
