There are tons of other minorities who have applied and got rejected. Diversity does not always mean race or ethnicity, but also means culture, religion, and belief systems. This girl got into Princeton because she was considered a talent in the admission's eyes.

@yiyopr1 All (or at least most) colleges send acceptance letters by mail. That's because when you get an acceptance letter, they also send you info about the school, maybe a bumper sticker or something cool like that, and information on what to do next, accepting your admittance, setting up a school email account, etc.
Rejection letters or waiting list notices are more likely to come by email.

That is just stupid to think so. I went to college with white people and let me tell you. They aren't that damn impressive. Most of them cheated off of me or another minorities work and pass it off as their own. Well that's how it is in the south anyway

Slavery has nothing to do with why race is on the app. Segregation.Minorities were taught with bad teachers, taught to settle for jobs of lesser importance. 70 years ago, a women with her intelligence would've been told to manage a grocery store. Not even apply to a small college.
Secondly, race is on the application for economic reasons and if less minorities are allowed(racism). Next time you decide to voice an opinion, please, make it valid. Im 13 btw..douche

@whatever177177 Affirmative action does exist. You question its justice but can you question its existence? I'm happy for and proud of this young lady. The fact that she is African American is all the more exciting. I would love to see more blacks get into successful careers. Affirmative action does exist and probably did help a bit, but she wouldn't have gotten in without hard work.

Princeton doesnt accept dumbasses. but i dont see how its right that she should be considered over a white girl who worked harder, and made even BETTER scores, simply because she didnt fall into the correct racial category? thats the way the system works now in order to "create a diverse environment" and its corrupt and fucked up.

@whatever177177 you clearly don't understand how admissions works. no one is ever considered "over" another candidate. each file is read ALONE in its own context. they don't pit one black female against a white female, so it is a meaningless hypothetical, & because they are looking at a huge wide range of factors, many of them subjective and having nothing to do with race (even the subjective ones), you can't have two equal candidates even in a hypothetical situation. they look at INDIVIDUALS

@yiyopr1 All (or at least most) colleges send acceptance letters by mail. That's because when you get an acceptance letter, they also send you info about the school, maybe a bumper sticker or something cool like that, and information on what to do next, accepting your admittance, setting up a school email account, etc.
Rejection letters or waiting list notices are more likely to come by email.

omg you are so lucky to get accepted into princeton!!! I am going into 6th grade and since the 4th grade i have been studying the princeton university and have been wishing to get accepted just like you. I know I have an extremely long time to go until i even get there but when i do i hope to keep my grades up participate in many activities and get a scholarship in creative writing and also be the validvictorian of my senior class. I cant wait to see where i go in the future. Good luck!!!!!!!!!!

@ZiggyZag24 Holy cow you're in the 6th grade and you're already thinking about college!! Relax dude, enjoy what's left of your youth while you have it. There really is nothing you can do this early to give you a leg up, in fact you don't even have to keep your grades up that tight till 9th grade (they only see your grades from 9th grade till 12 grade).
