@DevasionX - that is not very likely. the last few remakes have all been downloadable content, aside from bf3 of course. technically 1943 was standalone so something like that might be possible but i think it will be a bf3 expansion. if it is to be released in stores standalone, it will be a long ways off. i doubt they risk it as 2143 wasnt their most popular title

Battlefield 2: Modern Combat had nothing to do with bad company, Battlefield 1943 came out right after BC1 and runs on the BC engine, has remastered guns and maps from Battlefield 1942. Bad Company 2 did the same to Battlefield: Vietnam. It would make sense that Battlefield 3 latered has a remastered version of Battlefield: 2142
