Actually Engadget concluded that the new ARM8 chip from Samsung on the Iphone 3G S is capable of shooting 720p HD videos along with a good battery management. Strangly Apple implemented VGA instead of HD..
Wow... picture quality is impressive. Video shot with the Flip Ultra (60min) isn't this good. Especially if the AVI video is converted using Quicktime Pro. Better if converted to dv using Visual Hub but still not as good as this. Interesting. Thanks for posting video.
It has a kind of distinctive side-to-side slight shake (distinct and different from camcorder shake) that seems to say "I'm holding a phone." Of course, if I was shooting it would look like "some overcaffeinated idiot is holding a phone."
that is a nice dinner stop! Any geographical 'location' when I want to visit it? Did the iPhone in fact save the location of the video (is there such thing infact?!)
what's the longest video you recorded on the iPhone, and is there rendering time once it's finished or when you save it? If so, how's that compare to the length of the video??
impressed with the quality

Wow. When I clicked on this video link from TechCrunch, I wasn't expecting the video to be from freaking North Kingstown!
Did you enjoy your time in our little town?

Very interesting. I take it you don't have the HD version. On a side note, nice of the video taker to belittle his friend with IPHONE

I'm impressed. With a little video stabilization in iMovie and that would look like video shot from a pretty great hand camera.

Blown away by both the quality of the camera and also the intriguing subject. Good job, Andy.

Is there a HD setting?

nope, it will be a while before they fit in HD cameras into smart phones

Depends on what your version of "a while" is. I don't think it will be that far off my friend.
