I agree to a point. Although in my opinion it is about striking a balance, which I believe is what Islam teaches us. Moderation and the middle path. TV has little value, on that I agree. Sports are different, in that we should exercise to keep our bodies healthy and watching sports in moderation is not an unhealthy past time. If you keep beating the nafs down and subjegating it, it will rebel and be more dangerous than before. We should enjoy the halal in this world, while being mindful.
@deffender1000 you are right. ironic that we are using the medium to communicate with eachother, but the internet does more harm than good. it corrupts our children and how many hours do we all spend on social network sites and even youtube? i know i spend far too much of my free time 'surfing' and basically doing nothing that is of any real substance when i am online. great point deffender1000

The problem isnt TV anymore....It is the internet most youth my generation cant even stand TV we think it is to slow
on the other hand computer are multitasker....Youtube/Facebook etc are the new addictions
