@TheCarlitosbug The only reason he's in the story is so that Don Quixote can take the shaving basin away from him - pretty much as in the original novel, only the barber with the shaving basin has no dialogue at all in the novel. He just sees Don Quixote on horseback about to attack him and runs off, leaving the shaving basin.
